Abandonment

Her Eyes
Her eyes hold a story, a meaningful one
Her eyes are great after years of weeping
Her eyes are wide in fear ash she faces him
Her eyes brim with fresh tears as she lets out a sob
The room around her is closing in
The short time she once had left is running even more thin
The clothes on her back hang loosely
The thunder erupts loudly as she whimpers yet again
Her neck aches from the previous events
She untangles the rope from her neck and runs away to another room
She snatches the bottle of pills that once helped her to sleep
The voice in her head is screaming now
"DO IT ALREADY"
She nods to herself as she fills up a glass of water and downs handfuls of pills until she can't swallow anymore
She stumbles to the bedroom where he is
His lifeless body lays there with the blood still running from his veins
The razor sitting next to him
She lies down next to him and holds him one last time
Before she drifts away she whispers one last time,
"Why did you abandon me, my love?"
She kisses his cheek and closes her eyes and thunder erupts one last time.
