~Dan's POV~
You and Y/N slowly walked next to each other. It was a nice evening out. She didn't talk, but she looked like she was at peace so you didn't start a conversation. Instead you thought about the day you'd had. First, the Vidcon panel. Second, pictures and a signing. Third, filming a video for your channel. Fourth, teaching Y/N editing stuff. Fifth, filming the cooking video. Now, walking her home. But even though you'd rather be resting back at your flat, this was the most calm and serene you'd felt in a long time. It was strange. You'd walked around town before and it had never felt this relaxing. You looked over at Y/N. Was it her? You did feel very comfortable with her, but only because she was so similar to you. It was nice to talk with someone who knew what you were going through and experienced it as well.
"Hey, Dan?" she asked softly.
"Yeah?" you looked over at her.
"What kind of equipment do you think I'll need for making better videos?" she met your gaze curiously.
"It depends on what kind of videos you want to make. If you just want videos like the ones you currently make, you don't need a whole lot of stuff. Just a good camera, a stand, a vlogging camera for outside filming, a good computer, the screen and other cables and stuff for it, and then an editing program. That's about it. If you want to make gaming videos, that's a whole other story." you answered with a smile.
"Well, luckily, I want to stick with what I got going on already. I'm bad at video games. So, I've got the computer and stuff with that. I have the editing program, too. So, all I need are the cameras and the stand. Do you think you could help me find that stuff? I don't want to buy a bunch of crap, you know." she made a face that seemed to say she had experience with that.
"Sure. I could do that. There's an electronics store just a block away. You want to get all of it now?" you questioned her tilting your head and looking into her eyes.~Your POV~
You felt your heartbeat speed up and your stomach fall to your feet. His dark chocolate eyes just tore through your brave façade and made you feel like every other girl out there felt about him. You were better than this. You couldn't believe you were acting this way. Sure you liked Dan, but it was just a pathetic fangirl crush. Not anything serious.
"Uhhhh...yeah. If you don't mind." you pulled yourself together.
"Nah. I've got nothing else to do anyway." he responded with that sexy little smirk.
You had to get a grip. This was just insane. You shook your head and followed Dan to the store.~time skip~
You left the store with all the supplies you needed. Dan had insisted that he carry the two bags, because it was 'good for his ego'. You knew he wanted to be gentlemanly. Still, your independent spirit stung at the action of letting Dan do this for you. You COULD do it. But letting him do it made him happy. So you would just let him have this moment. It wasn't that big of a deal. It was just this one time.
"Thanks for helping me, Dan. It was super awesome of you." you told him honestly.
He just shrugged and mumbled something about it being nothing. You both walked the rest of the way to your hotel in a beautiful silence. The way you two could just be together in quiet companionship was refreshing. It was hard for you to feel comfortable with strangers. Of course, Dan wasn't really a stranger. You'd watched his content for forever. But that didn't mean you knew him. And yet, you felt more at peace with him than you did with Lexi or Manda. It sort of scared you at little. You'd never felt this way before. It must be that you and Dan were so similar. That was the only logical answer.
You arrived at your hotel and walked up the stairs to the room you shared with Lexi. You unlocked the door and turned to look at Dan.
"Well, I guess I'll see you later. Thanks again." you said lamely.
"Yeah. Definitely. And thanks for filming with me and Phil." Dan replied.
"No problem. See ya." you waved slightly. He handed you your bags and backed up a bit.
"See ya." he returned your wave.
You shut the door and leaned your back against it. You let out a heavy breath and closed your eyes.
"So. How did it go?" Lexi asked you with an annoying lilt to her voice.
You opened your eyes and gave her a 'don't you dare' look. She gave you a "too late" smile and grabbed your hand, dragging you into the bedroom. She set you on the bed and sat next to you.
"So...spill!" she pressured you.
"Spill what? Nothing happened. We did editing and then Phil invited me to eat with them. They decided thay wanted to film a video of us cooking so we did that." you left out the part about Dan walking you home. If Lexi knew that, she'd never let it go.
"Manda told me he walked you back here. What happened then?" she said destroying your hopes.
"Nothing! He walked me back, we went to a tech store, and then he brought me back here. That's it." you said defensively.
"What did you buy?" she asked interestedly. "You hate tech stuff. You always say you just can't understand it."
"Just some cameras. You know, gadgets and gizmos." you yawned and stretched. "I'm gonna head to bed."
You walked into the bathroom and shut the door. You sighed and looked at yourself in the mirror. You looked like someone who had just had the best and worst day of their life. You laughed softly. You wouldn't see Dan again after tomorrow. You had to head back to the USA in two days. No sense getting attached to anyone here. It would only hurt you in the end. But you would always have the memories.----------------------------------------------------------
A/NHow many of you have had a pointless crush on someone? What did you do about it?
