( Cuphead's POV )

I couldn't believe it.. Hazel had just died in my arms.. she was only 13 for god's sake! A kid; and she HAD to get the inkness, didn't she?! I sat in the same place we were when the symptoms of her last inkness attack started for only 6 minutes after she died, but it felt like an eternity. I held her close to me, quietly sobbing. I could barely make any noise, my voice was so cracked from crying for so long. I had so many questions.. "Why did this happen?" "Why so young?" "Could I have saved her some way?" but the one that I dreaded to even think of the answer the most.. was "How will Mugs, Bekkah and Connor react?". When they left, Hazel and I were fine, watching tv, laughing and having a good time. But when they come home, the first thing that they are gonna see is Hazel dead.. and then, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, they came home. As soon as the door opened, I zipped my head toward it to look at them as they walked in. Bekkah gasped, and the grocery bags dropped out of her hands as her face went pale. "H-HAZEL!?" She cried out, running over to my side, falling to her knees as well. "No.. no no no! H-Hazel!" She softly whimpered, and I looked at her, shaking my head slowly as tears continued to fall from my cheeks. Bekkah began to shiver as she lowered her head and hugged Hazel. "Hazel... n-no...! You cant die... please..." She sobbed into Hazel's shirt. Mugs was behind us holding Connor. I was glad that Connor didn't understand death yet, but at the same time I was the complete opposite of glad for him.. how will he understand what happened to her..? She was always around to play with him, feed him.. now that she will never be around, poor Connor is going to be so confused.. Mugs was also very upset. He was crying as well, wiping his eyes every now and then, while looking at Hazel, in complete disbelief that this happened. We all couldn't believe it. What were we going to do now..? No parent should have to bury their child. I promised Hazel that everything would be okay.. well, I did a great job keeping that promise, didn't I..?
