I'm not sure the name of Lauren's maternal grandmother is. I was looking through Instagram, and saw her mother calling her Angie. Angie is short of Angelica. I thought that was Mike's mother's name? I'm going to use it, but if I'm wrong, please let me know so I can change it.

Christmas Eve at the Jauregui house was as usual a highly religious experience and so at ten to midnight, Lauren found herself walking towards their church in the company of both of her parents and her Grams on her mother's side. She loved her Grams and often wondered how the woman could have given birth to Clara Jauregui.
They couldn't have been more different. Whereas Clara Jauregui was very insulated and conscious of all of her movements, to the point a young Lauren had spent a large part of her childhood convinced her mother had brittle bone disease and would shatter at sudden movements. Angelica Morgado however was the polar opposite, she loved life, loved to laugh and most important of all she loved her granddaughter.
As Clara and Michael walked ahead at a brisk pace discussing what the Walker's and Young's were going to be wearing and why Mr Walker didn't deserve the promotion he had just been given, Lauren stayed back with her Grams, she had to walk with a stick these days and the girl liked to stick close to her just in case of a slip.
"So how are things going at Hogwarts Lauren, have you proven how amazing you are yet?"
Angelica didn't miss the subtle stiffening of Lauren's posture at the name of the school and internally she narrowed her eyes. She couldn't prove it but she suspected her son-in-law had been less than understanding about his daughter's magical ability, she had even outright asked the girl but wide eyed she'd just shook her head and looked away. She kept an eye on her and after it became clear that her father had not heard Lauren grinned shyly.
"Of course, I love it to be honest Grams, my friends are amazing and then when Camila came along things just got..."
Paling the green eyed girl bit her lip and looked away. Angelica sighed internally and once again cursed her son-in-law for taking a bright inquisitive child and turning her into a quiet obedient young woman who was terrified at the prospect of finding her own way in life. Laying a gentle hand on Lauren's arm, she waited until the worried green eyes locked on hers then smiled gently.
"Lauren sweetheart...I'm not your father and I have never shared his views of the world, your mother however, she...well she wasn't as strong as you are and you should be damn proud of your strength. I am so proud of you Lauren, so immensely proud and for all I care you could be in love with a crocodile so long as that crocodile makes you happy, so tell me, does Camila make you happy?"
Lauren's lips turned up into the familiar dopey 'I love Camila Cabello' smile and she looked downwards as her gaze turned inward to think about the little brunette that had quite simply stolen her breath then her heart from the minute Lauren had set her eyes on her. Angelica chuckled and squeezed the young girl's hand in hers.
"That say's it all, then I hope you are happy and that you know you are more than welcome to bring her to meet me...in fact I insist on it, I do after all have to give her the seal of approval."
It was Lauren's turn to chuckle and she ducked her head shyly as they followed after her parent's. letting out a breath she scooped down to press a shy kiss to her grandmother's cheek.
"Thank you Grams and I'm sure Camila would be over the moon to meet you, I don't...really talk about family much and I think she wonders."
Angelica watched her granddaughter carefully as they walked and not for the first time, she wished the girl felt confident enough to talk openly with her, in her heart of hearts, she knew that something rotten was festering in the Jauregui house but her daughter had denied everything and also made every excuse under the sun to prevent her from visiting. Invitations for them to visit her were always turned down as well and although Lauren always looked as though she wanted to jump at those offers, she never said a word, always silenced after a look from Michael. However, right now he was far in front of them that he wouldn't hear her.
