A week or so after the big match between Hufflepuff and Slytherin things had calmed down nicely, Dinah had had to pull Hailee out of two fights and Lucy out of one but in an unspoken pact the inner circle had taken to looking out for the younger girls. Consequently the altercations between the two young Hufflepuffs and the rest of the team dwindled down to nothing, especially after Dinah had carried through on her threat and booted one of their chasers off the team altogether.

Camila sighed dreamily as she looked over at Hailee and Lucy curled up together in a corner of the library giggling and occasionally stealing a kiss. Normani, who was watching the little Gryffindor, smirked and elbowed Dinah who was sat next to her. When the blonde looked at her she motioned with her eyes towards Camila. As if she could sense them looking at her, the brunette sat up and glared defensively back.

"What? I just happen to think it's sweet...that's all!"

Normani laughed and then shook her head before checking her watch.

"Where's Lo anyway, she get bored with you already?"

Huffing irritably, Camila muttered something and looked back down at her half finished essay, it wasn't due for a week but she couldn't leave it that long, once something was assigned, she liked to get it out of the way but there was a little problem with the formula for the potion she was writing up and she needed Lauren, who wasn't there!

"No, of course not she just...well she's spending a lot of time working on something privately, she won't share what is it with me and I can't see it till she's finished."

Trailing off with a distinctly sorry for herself pout, she slumped down in her seat and crossed her arms, Dinah frowned.

"Wonder what it is, Lo normally likes input for her ideas...weird."

Camila looked worried now, chewing on her lower lip as she half sat then slumped again, only to sit up yet again, this time uncertainly drumming her fingers on the desktop. The Slytherin looked up with a scowl.

"Seriously Cabello! Either go and find her or sit down and finish your work because you are driving me up the wall!"

Camila narrowed her eyes.

"I'm sorry if my concern is disturbing your perfect world Kordei, I'm worried because we are due to break up for the Christmas holiday's in just over two weeks, and that makes me think she might be trying to think of ways to not go home, which in turn makes me feel sick with worry!"

Instantly the Slytherin felt bad and her expression softened as she reached across to Camila and very, very briefly squeezed her hand before pulling back.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to get you even more worried...why don't you just go upstairs, she's bound to be holed up in her room working on whatever this is. She won't mind you going up there and you know it, plus she gets fixated sometimes and can't see the woods for the trees, remember the whole Arithmancy mess?"

Sitting straighter suddenly Camila smiled softly and with a decisive nod packed her stuff into her bag neatly, looking back down to her work Normani assumed that would be that so was taken off guard when Camila hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek before disappearing. Looking sideways towards her girlfriend, she growled.

"You better not be laughing at me Dinah Jane Hansen!"

The Hufflepuff shook her head even as her shoulders trembled with the contained mirth, with a groan Normani let her forehead fall to the table top with a dull thump, how many more hits could her reputation take?
