Literature - ethimologically,it is derived from latin word "litera" which means "letters", although some definisions include spokenor sung texts.
General Types of Literature
1.Fiction - (creative) a literaly writing that is the product of man's imagination.The people and places are non-existent in life.
2.Non-Fiction - (non-creative) a literary writing which the characters,people,events and places exist in real life.

1.Prose - writings that come in sortness and pharagraphs.
2.Poetry - writings that come in lines and stanzas.
Genres Of Literature
1.Short stories - a literary writing that is prose which is shorter than a novel and novelette.
2.Novel - a literary writing that is prose that is longer than a Novelette and short story.
3.Drama - this is performed on stage.
4.Poem/Poetry - a literary writing that comes in lines and stanzas.
5.Essay - a literary writing that expresses manifets one's peraonal views and oppinions regarding the topic.
