Chapter six~~ toronto & tears

The smell off paint fumes fills my lungs as I open my eyes. Today is decorating day for the new apartment. Mommy couldn't hire anyone to come and do it for us so she said she would pay me and Hayden if we helped.

I reach over to my alarm,7:45am. Hayden will be here at 8:00 so I have 15minutes to make myself a little more presentable. I brush my hair and put it into a neater ponytail and grab some old clothes from the bottom of my wardrobe to chuck on instead.

Mommy is already downstairs mixing paints and covering furniture with big blue sheets. "Morning mommy" i run down the stairs and grab a pancake from the table "hey. You seem excited? You know we are only painting right? Nothing fun"
"I'm just having a good day" I shrug and sit down on the stool in the kitchen.

The next 10 minutes are super slow, it feels like I'm waiting for paint to dry, literally😂.

Knock knock

It's Hayden!! I run to the door and swing it open, he immediately jumps into my arms for a hug "wow" suddenly his lips are on mine and we stay like this for around 5 minutes just embracing eachother. I pull away realising mommy is probably watching and laugh into Hayden's shoulder before going back to help her unwrap the paint brushes.

The living room is where we are going to start. The walls are going to be a light pinky colour and the furniture will be a creamy white. I grab one of the huge paint brushes and begin to paint, Hayden is next to me with a long sponge roller and he's doing the ceiling. Mommy went back to the mall because she forgot a few things so it's just us.

"So how are you?" He stops to dunk the sponge in the paint "I'm fine, you?" He doesn't say anything. I see a tear in his eye and I immediately drop my paint brush getting paint everywhere. I rush to him and hug him, his tears drenching my t-shirt sleeve. "What's wrong?" I look into his eyes and rub the tears away "I'm going away Annie" he can't even look me in the eye "where?" We sit down on the floor "Toronto, for a week" I smile at him "Hayden... I'm going too" his eyes light up "SERIOUSLY!!" He jumps on me once again and we both laugh "don't worry, nothing is going to separate us" he grabs my cheeks and kisses me, more passionately this time.
"Uh hum" we turn around to see mommy standing in the doorway smiling, AWKWARD!!
"Umm hi Katie" We burst out laughing "I'm gonna pretend I didn't see it" Hayden helps me up from the floor and we carry on painting.

2 hours later

"Guys why don't you go for a walk or something? Go get some fresh air. It's not good to be in a house all day full off fumes like this" mommy begins packing the paint away for the day "okay mommy, we'll be back before 11pm" I run upstairs to change my clothes and then grab my purse "see ya" me and Hayden wave to mommy before we begin walking down the street, hands intertwined.

"So chocolate cake, I've been thinking that maybe we should tell social media about us" Hayden smiles at me "if your ready?" He grabs both my hands and looks me in the eyes "I'll always be ready, as long as I'm with you" I nod and we carry on walking "how are we going to announce it?" I'm very curious "however you want too, the fans will go wild when they find out" we enter Starbucks and walk over to the counter "two pink drinks please" I get out some money and place it on the counter, we go and sit at a table right at the back where no one can see. "Do you think any fans have seen us?" I look out the window "well if they have they sure are keeping quiet about it". He has a point. If any fan of #hannie have seen us then they would tell social media straight away or atleast try and get a good photo off us, if they haven't seen us then we must be doing a pretty good job of hiding it.
I slurp my pink drink and stare out the window, by tomorrow everyone will know about me and Hayden. We will be officially hannie. I really hope daddy and Hayley approve of me and Hayden. I know Paige will because she completely adores Hayden and she's shipped hannie since the start. In Toronto we are with the whole of rock your hair for 2 days before heading to a "mystery location" for a holiday. Daddy Hayley and Paige are meeting us in Toronto, I'm so excited.

"What's wrong?" Hayden grabs my hand over the table "huh? Nothing I'm fine, just thinking" he raises one eyebrow "you looked like you were on the other side of the planet, what were you thinking about?" I take a deep breathe "I was thinking about if daddy, Hayley and Paige would approve of us" he smiles "off course they will, don't worry about it"
I shrug and look around. Am I really seeing who I think I'm seeing? LIV!! She's standing at the counter with 2 other girls and a boy. I duck a bit so she doesn't see but I think I'm too late. Her eyes are on me and she smiles an evil smile. "Annie? You look like you've just seen a ghost?" When I don't reply Hayden follows my eyes to the direction of liv and her "gang", they begin making there way over.

"Well if it isn't Annie leblanc"
"Go away liv"
"What's wrong Annie? You look like you've seen a ghost?"
"I said GO AWAY"
"Who's this?" She points her skinny finger in Hayden's direction
"My name is Hayden, Hayden summerall" he goes to shake her hand but she pulls away and he smiles
"Oh um... are you guys like, a thing?"
"Is it any of your-" Hayden cuts me off
"yes we are" he grabs my hand under the table
"Cmon liv we better leave them be" I turn to see Carson standing behind her, he's grabbing her hand. Are they a couple?
"Okay fine. See you around ANNIE!"

She turns and her hair flips side to side along with her hips. The two girls silently follow liv and Carson out of Starbucks. I've never felt my heart beat so fast. Hayden gets up and slips into the seat next to me, cupping my cheeks with his hands. "It's okay, she's gone" a tear drops down and he wipes it away "she will be back, she always is" I bury my face in his neck and sob.

"Annie, I love you" I look up at him in astonishment. He told me he loved me! "I love you too" I smile and our lips meet for a few seconds "cmon lets go to the beach" I laugh at him and we walk across the road to the beach.

The sea is warm for once and I roll up my trousers to paddle. "Come in further!" I watch as Hayden goes deeper into the sea "please come back in, I get worried" he rolls his eyes and wraps his arms around my waist "I'm going to go and sit down. Start on that Instagram post about us" I get my phone from my back pocket and sit on a rock next to him...
