You grab Mark's wallet and head to the bar. You go on the other side from your boyfriend, not wanting to be seen by him. You order two drinks and pay. Then you decide to see what your boyfriend's doing. You stand on your tippy toes and lean forward, trying to see across the bar. The seats around his are now filled with girls, instead of the old men that were there before.
"I'll be right back." you tell the bartender, as you walk over to your boyfriend. As you get closer, you see that there's also a girl on his lap. You feel tears well in your eyes. You mind is blank as you stumble closer to him. When you get a foot away, he finally notices you. "Hey Y/N." he says, like nothing is happening.
"What is this?" you ask, voice breaking. "I'm just hanging with some friends." he says, with a smirk. A bunch of the girls laugh. "Who are you anyway?" one asks. "H-his girlfriend." you say, with a broken tone. They all snicker. A hot salty liquid starts to flow down your cheeks. Your eyes sting and your face burns. You're crying.
You try to open your mouth to speak, but nothing comes out. You give up and turn around to walk away. For a second, you pause, hoping he'll say "Wait." or anything else. But it's just laughter you hear. So you head right for the door, not caring about leaving Mark or Jack. You just wanted to go home and die.
"Y/N!" "Y/N!!!" "Hold up!" you hear. You're not even sure if it's real. It sounds so far away and almost like an echo. You ignore it as you stare blankly at the door, pushing it open. You stumble outside and look around, unsure if any of your life is real right now. Head hanging low, you start in the direction of your apartment.
"Y/N?" you hear a calm voice ask. You turn around to see Mark. He stares at you with his kind eyes. "What's wrong?" he asks, moving closer to you. You shake your head. "Nothing. I'm fine." He wipes the tears off your face. "Tell me what happened." You sigh. "I went to get our drinks. And then I decided to see what my boyfriend was doing. I found him surrounded by girls, one even on his lap."
Mark's silent for a minute. Then you hear a low growl. You see more anger in his eyes than when he was in the stand off with Jack. You can't believe a person could look so furious. "I'm gonna kill him." he says, quickly turning around. "No, Mark." you say, grabbing his arm. "Just leave it. Beating him up isn't gonna do anything." "But Y/N-" "Promise me you won't." He sighs and looks down. "Fine."
"I'm gonna go home now. See you later." you say, as calmly as you can." He nods. "I'm gonna go see if I can find Jack then." You're too upset to even care that you totally forgot about Jack. You just continue walking on.
