Chapter 3

Zaks POV

After an uneventful evening I slowly roll out of bed. Eager to review the evidence we collected on our last lockdown.

I throw my feet off the bed sitting up rubbing the sleep out if my eyes. As my feet hit the cold floor I walk over to my washroom to get myself ready for the day. Walking out of my room once finished, I grab my phone to give Billy a call so I can figure out when he is coming over

"Hey Bill" I say when he picks up the phone. " when are you coming over?" I ask

"Give me till like 3 and I'll be over. I'm just running some errands with the wife then I'm free" he replies

"Alright sounds good I'll see you later"

I hang up the phone. I don't bother to call Aaron as he's probably still asleep and he hates when he gets woken up.

I walk into the kitchen to find Gracie sitting beside her bowl. Clearly wanting some breakfast. I walk up to the cupboard and grab the bag out using the scoop to fill her bowl. After putting the bag away I put some toast in the toaster and busy myself starting my pot of coffee. Once my toaster is done I've got cup of coffee and I'm off to my office to get a head start on setting up equipment and loading stuff onto the computers.

I'm so busy reviewing evidence that I don't notice Billy and Aaron walk into my office.

"Boo!" Aaron yells walking up behind me and grabbing my shoulders.

"What the actual fuck bro?" I yell turning around.

He's lucky I didn't punch him! I mean he's my best friend and all but I hate when people scare me. Thinking about it, it's kind of ironic that I enjoy being scared by ghosts and demons but hate it when 'live' people do it.

Getting over their fit of laughter, they finally calmed down " very fucking funny guys" I growl at them, turning back to my work. Pretty soon we've all settled into our own work when suddenly Billy looks at us and motion that we have to hear something.

Putting on the headphones he plays it "olivia" it says. I look at him confused.

Does anyone know what this could mean?" I ask.

" Just keep listening" Billy says.

"Keep her safe" it says next.

" Bro I've got no idea what this even means" I turn to him. " Maybe there's a spirit named Olivia there?".

After a few hours of going through more evidence, my eyes hurt and I definitely need a break. I can't stop thinking about who Olivia might be.

" Hey you guys want to get a coffee ?" I look over at Billy and Aaron who look just as tired as I feel.

" Most definitely" Aaron answers standing up and stretching from his chair. Billy just nods his head following us out to the car.

On our way there Aaron gets a call from Nick. I'm not sure what they are talking about but Aaron seems really excited. After he hangs up he smiles at me.

" Dude, Nick just found us a new location to investigate next week!"

" we just got back Aaron, and we don't have to do anything for atleast 2 weeks" wow, he and Nick are anxious to get back on the road again I think to myself.

" Maybe so, but Nick said this is an awesome location and one that has never been investigated!" he exclaims " we will be the first ones ever to be allowed to investigate, it's a once in a lifetime thing"

" Alright so tell me what we know about this place then" I say as I park the car and we get out making our way to the Starbucks.

" The hotel is called Walaby Hotel in Florida. It's a really upscale hotel but it wasn't always nice. It has a rather dark history to it. The building was originally built in 1880 and until the early 1950's it was used as slum apartments. Lots of death and crime and all around problems dating back to when it first opened. It was shut down and fell into disrepair until the current owners bought it and fixed it up. The story goes that there has been a ton of paranormal activity but the hotel keeps it hushed. " he explains

"Wow sounds like it definitely has an interesting history" I think out loud

" The latest incident though made it out thanks to guests witnessing it and the video getting out"

" Wait there's a video of something going on there?" I ask excitedly , my interest definitely peaked now.

This seemed like a place I would love to investigate. And I had to see this video.

" You said they have some sort of video showing something? I ask Aaron

"Yeah whatever it was they caught it all on video. Security camera or something , one if the guests witnessed the whole thing and called Nick and told him, even got ahold of the video and sent it to him. Nick called the travel channel who called the hotel and got us in! and if the channel wants us to do it than it must be good!" he finished.

I was curious to know more about the history of the hotel and know more about the paranormal happenings there.

The three of us talked more about the hotel and incidents as we walked in and ordered our drinks. Aaron's phone went off again. Nick had sent him a copy if the video, which he immediately played for us.

Once it was finished playing I was speechless. We all just looked at each other and smiled. We would love to investigate this place.

We hurriedly grabbed our drinks and got in the car to head back and finish up our evidence so we could send it off to travel channel and gets our hands into some research for the new lock down !
