Chapter 2: Speak of the Devil

Everyone is stunned and speaks in hushed whispers to each other when they saw Yeming began to approach the common loser, Yao Wang. What they are seeing now is Yeming, who is currently standing in front of Yao Wang, towering over him while the smaller boy stands shakily, both from the intense gaze he is receiving and for being the centre of attention. Yeming notices the way other students are behaving right now, as if talking to the angelic boy in front of him is a huge taboo in this classroom.

The boy looks so scared, intimidated perhaps by his presence. His shoulders are hunched down and drawn inwards, as if to make him appear smaller than he is, and his hands are holding onto the small lunchbox he had picked up tightly. Yeming tsked slightly, displeased at other students scandalous reactions.

In contrast, Yao Wang keeps his sight locked onto the intimidating man's shiny shoes, afraid to meet anyone's gaze right now. He does not know why this person is looking for him. His heart is beating fast. Is he going to bully me? The mysterious man begins to raise his right hand. Yao Wang flinches, closes his eyes and get ready for any incoming impact.

"Is this yours?". The soft tone surprises Yao Wang. Slowly, he opens his eyes and sees what the other man is holding up. My school badge! Immediately his face lights up, happy to see what he had thought was missing. Yao Wang daringly steals a glance at the taller man's face, and is met with a sincere expression, unlike mocking expressions he usually gets daily. Yeming saw the flinch and he felt his heart drop. Why did he react like I was about to hit him?

Thankfully, a gorgeous smile slowly surfaces on the fair-skinned boy's face upon seeing Yeming's true intention, dismissing any frowns decorating it earlier. Yao Wang, not forgetting his manners, says thank you to the kind man and is about to ask how did he get it, but cut short when someone rudely interrupts their interactions.
"You should not go near that freak".

Both Yeming and Yao Wang turn their head to see Shen Guang, smiling smugly towards them at this point. "You don't want to get burdened by his disease. Disease of attraction towards men". Shen Guang presses on the word men intentionally, drawing a series of laughters among the audience.

Yao Wang trembles, his face goes crimson due to embarrassment, runs towards the door trying to get away as far as possible from the scene. Though it is stopped short, when Shen Guang blocks his path and leans down face to face with the frightened man, "He will have feelings for you if you are nice to him, and he will stalk you like a pervert". Yao Wang classmates laugh loudly at this, causing tears to fall from Yao Wang's eyes. He shoves Shen Guang hard to the side and runs out of the classroom, mockingly cheered by his classmates.

"I'm just doing you a favor". With a smug expression, as if he had just done something honorable, extends his arms to make an acquaintance with Yeming. "My name is Shen Guang. Heard you just transferred here. Just so you know that loser is a homofreak". He smirks uglily while some of his goons snicker loudly thinking of the loser. Yeming feels increasing amount of displeasure at seeing this stupid person. What an airhead. Instead of accepting the handshake, Yeming coldly turns away, not paying Shen Guang any attention, and leaves the classroom without saying anything as if the offending man does not even exist.

Everyone gasps in surprise at Yeming's reaction, for never in their lives before they had seen Shen Guang being ignored like that. Extremely embarrassed at the obvious dismissal, Shen Guang's face colour is similar to a ripe tomato now.

"Leave it", he orders his sidekicks when they make a move to chase after Yeming, probably wanting to beat his ass down. He decides to let Yeming off this one time, but not without teaching him a lesson of embarrassing him. He whispers some instructions into his friends' ears, believing that he just has the perfect plan for it. I'll show you a proper way to behave in this school.
