Contains spoilers from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and LoS.
This takes place after LoS. Also, the T.V show in this one-shot is fictional. It was 6:56 p.m. The program that all the children wanted to watch would be on in four minutes. There was a special program coming on that was all about time travel and whether or not it exists. Miss Peregrine and her wards knew that time manipulation was possible, of course, but they wanted to see what normals had to say about it.
After dinner, all of the children rushed to the Portman's living room and took a seat. Jacob turned on the T.V. and turned it on channel 17. The program had just started.
"Hello, and welcome to— uh, this program on T.V. My name is Billy Bob, and I will be your host. Now, today we will discuss time travel. Does it exist? Believe it or not, scientists are beginning to think so."
The introduction to the program continued on, the children were listening to every single word.
"And all of the proof scientists have gathered link together. On September 3rd, 1940, on a small island off the coast of Wales, bombs began to fall from the sky. But, that's not the only thing that happened that night. The day after the German's dropped bombs on Cairnholm, a man was walking on the coast, down to the lighthouse, and saw a disturbing sight. There was a dead man on the beach. He was shot in the throat, and appeared to have fallen from the top of the lighthouse."
"Oh no," Jacob muttered. He knew that the man was Dr. Golan, everyone else did, too.
"And that brings us to a psychiatrist from Englewood, Florida. Yes, you heard me right. There was a psychiatrist from Englewood, Florida who went missing about two months ago. And he looks exactly like the man who was murdered in 1940."
All of the children looked at one another. They had a bad feeling about this.
"On the night of the bombing, one of the bombs went off course and the children's home got bombed. There were no survivors, Or were there? A couple weeks ago, we decided to look at the children's home. We searched the entire house. There were no skeletons found, but we found something even more disturbing. Upon searching the basement, we found tons of hearts and organs. None of them belong to humans, but why would they be in the basement of an orphanage?
"We also found tons of authentic vintage photographs from the forties, and most of them were quite strange. Here are some of them."
The T.V. showed some pictures from the home. The first one they showed was the masked ballerinas.
"The twins!" Someone said.
The next picture they showed was of a levitating girl wearing a tiara.
"That's me!" Olive exclaimed. "I'm on television!"
The last picture they showed was one of a messy haired girl holding a chicken. All of the children were silent and just stared at the screen, remembering their lost friend.
"There was also a group picture of everyone in the children's home. We put it on social media, and several people were saying that they've seen those children recently in... Englewood, Florida. Most of the time they were seen they were with a resident of the town who was recently one of Dr. Golan's patients before he disappeared. The young man and his father went to Cairnholm just a few days before Dr. Golan disappeared.
"Scientists are trying to make sense out of all of this. How can a man that was alive in 2011 have someone who looks just like him dead in the 1940s? How can dead children from the 1940s be seen alive, and still children, in the present? Scientists think that the only explanation is time travel.
"Well, I'm Billy Bob and thank you for wa-"
Jacob turned off the T.V. All of the children and Miss Peregrine just sat in silence for a minute. After one minute, Miss Peregrine broke the silence.
"Well children, pack up your things. We're going back to Devil's Acre."
