-Chapter1-

"Shit" I moaned, this shower was useless. Nevertheless, I was grateful to have one. If it wasn't for Miles; I'd probably be homeless - and definitely without a shower.

"Miles!" I called down the corridor from the bathroom where I stood, wrapped in a short white towel with a head full of shampoo, freezing to death.

I'd recently quit my tedious job at a printing agency to pursue a life long dream of becoming a solo singer/songwriter. Quite ambitious, I know, but it was something that meant a lot to me and if I didn't do it, it was certain I would regret it. Luckily, I had all the support and help I needed from Miles.

"MILES KANE!" I screamed at the top of my voice. I thought he may had been ignoring me deliberately; he often did as he knew it winded me up. However, I could hear a muffled song coming from the living room down the hall where I assumed miles was listening to music, needlessly loudly - of course - and so came to the conclusion that he actually couldn't hear me at all.

Miles and I had been best friends since I could remember. Our families had always been very close, and still are infact. We grew up together and were practically inseparable throughout school. Obviously we dated others and had different friends, but they came and went... me and miles always had each other. Miles knew everything about me, and I - him, I'm pretty sure he knew more about me than I did!

"MILES YOU DICK!"

I huffed as I realised he couldn't hear my mad shout from down the corridor and decided I'd have to go and get him. I didn't know how to fix the shower, only Miles had the magical touch that made it work again.

I padded down the white-walled corridor, leaving wet foot prints on the oak wood floor as I went. The cold air left goose bumps on my dripping skin and I wriggled as a chilling breeze made my spine tingle.

"Miles, I've been shouting for ages, the showers brok-" I opened the door and was stopped in my tracks as sat before me were 4 other men, all dressed in the similar fashion to that of Miles.

"Hey, Rose!" Miles chuckled at the look of bewilderment and embarrassment plastered on my face. I stood frozen, clutching my towel self-consciously as I watched the four men look me up and down in confusion and amusement.

"I-I didn't know you had company" I whimpered ... "Sorry"... I could feel my cheeks blushing and I sniggered awkwardly at the situation, shuffling my feet unaware of what to do with myself.

"Oh, we don't mind" one of the men pipped up. I glanced nervously over to where the husky voice was coming from. He wore dark blue denim jeans with smart, well looked after, black boots, a white buttoned down shirt with the collar popped, accompanied with a tight leather jacket that was similar to Miles'. His jet black hair was gelled into a quiff which hung over his forehead between two intensely dark brown eyes that were burning into me. His mouth formed a cocky smirk which irritated me immensely and he winked at me seductively with an ignorant confidence.

"Umm..o-ok?" I was unsure of how to answer the crude comment and stood staring at the floor, puzzled. For a man I'd just met, he sure was forward. Miles sensed my awkwardness and saved me from un-nerving situation that I found myself in.

"Hold on lads, missy has a problem" he got up and smiled his adorable crooked smile as he made his way towards the door. "come on you" he laughed, slapping my arse that was only just covered by the short, un-practical towel i was trying to hide myself in.

"Oi!" I giggled, leaving the room with him and following him down the corridor.

"You could of told me you had guests, I made a right fool of myself!" I scoffed, recalling the embarrassment I had just experienced.

"Hahah, sorry babe." He began
"Don't worry about it, they're cool. And ignore Alex, he likes to think he's a ladies man" Miles laughed to himself, I assumed that Alex was the one who made the crude comment. A ladies man, huh? Well hopefully he won't bother me, I didn't think much of my appearance as it was, although Miles reminded me he thought I was beautiful on what had become a daily basis, but I didn't intend on seeing 'Alex, the ladies man' every again.

"There we go! Hop in" Miles fixed the shower and the water began to run again. "Thankyou!" I squirmed, He shut the door after he exited and I jumped under the rush of warm water and began to wash out the shampoo I was previously rinsing.
