'Italicized': Baekhyun's thoughts on his past (doesn't realize that it's his past)

Baekhyun's POV (Beginning of a Dream)

A beautiful woman, around early 20's, stands in front of me, holding onto my hands tightly. The warmth transmitted through her hands to mine. From her eyes, a single water droplet shifts slowly down to her cheek. Her lip is dry and chapped, which it doesn't match her beautiful, symmetrical face. Her eyes stare at mine without a blink nor budge as if trying to tell me something.

Her mouth opens but she stutters her word, "Wh...y...a..t" She looks down, still holding onto my hands tightly. Her long hair falls down, thrusting swiftly around my arms.

"I'm sorry, Diana." I respond.

'What am I apologizing for?'

Her sobs become louder but her head still faced downward, not wanting to show me her possibly horrible crying face.

"I'm sorry, Diana." I tighten my grip as I just stared at her.

She pulls me down toward the ground as she sits down seiza-style, while I squat down facing her. Some string of hair is being pressed down onto her face due to the wetness, but she covers her face with our hands.

"Wi..will you com...e ba..ck?" She asks, stuttering.

I answer, "I will."

'Where am I going?'

"When?" She reveals her face, pulling my hands toward her chest.

"I don't know when I will be back." I avert my eyes away from her eyes.

She stares at me with a depressing look.

"But I promise you I will come back to you."

"You promise?" She looks in my eyes.

"I promise. No matter how long it is, I will come back to you." I look in her eyes in return.

"I understand. I will wait for you."

After a few pause, "When are you leaving?"

"I'm... I'm leaving tomorrow morning." I answer.

"Then, I will see you off tomorrow." She responds.

I nod, and I help her stand up.

A sunset peeks through a couple of mountains, suggesting us to go home.

"It's late. Your father will worry, go home."

"Okay." She lets go of my hands.

But, with an urge, I pulled her into my arm. She is surprised by my sudden action, but I tightly hugged her.

'What are you doing? I mean, what am I doing?'

She pats my back and pulls back, "What's wrong?" Then, she brightly smiles.

'Ba-dump, ba-dump. Wait, what was that?'

"Sorry, I'll see you tomorrow." I fake smile, placing my palm on top of the sword.

"Okay. Bye." She waves goodbye before she faces her back towards me.

I watch her disappear into the peaceful forest toward the village. Then, I stare at my hand that wrapped around her. It was warm and still left a presence of her. I tighten my hand into a fist and walked back to a house.

After few 10 minutes, I arrive at a house. It was hallowed and quiet, no family that would greet me. No candles to light, just spilled dry blood around the wall that haunts me. I quickly grab a paper out of the drawer and runs toward the top of the mountain. The sweat surrounds my body, sticking the clothes to me. At the top of the mountain, a protected shrine of the village stands. There, I dig a hole on the ground and put the paper in to hide. After I finish, I went back to the house.
