***THE BOY IN THE MEDIA PICTURE IS JASPER*** :3

Before all the world went to hell, I was your typical 12 year old girl, always trying to fit in Middle School.  I played feild hockey, went to summer camp to take archery and swimming lessons, and had a few close friends.

Four years ago, my home was invaded by two Biters.  They unfortunately killed my parents, and went after me; but my older brother saved me with a broom.  Since then, we've been roaming Georgia in order to survive.

Sumner, my brother, is so protective of me, that last month he found a bullet proof vest in a police car, and made me wear it whenever we went out on runs.  I told him in was stupid, but he made we wear it anyways.

In the backpack strapped to my shoulders, I carried a few things:

     1. A small blanket

     2. An extra bag of polished wood arrows (The metal ones were strapped over my right shoulder with my bow)

     3. A handgun

     4. A swiss army knife

     5. A water bottle

     6. An extra set of clothes

It's not much, but not much has gotten me through four years of torture.  My brother and I only joined one other group, and they all died in a Biter herd three months later.  The only reason Sumner and I survived was because we were the only ones who knew how to climb trees.

Sumner was leading the way towards a yellow house with at least two stories.  We'd run out of food, so now we were searching for more.  He opened the door cautiously, and when he was sure there were no Biters lumbering around, pushed in and closed the door.

The house was rather small, but as we reached the kitchen, we found canned goods galor.  There were most raviolis, but who cares?  It's food!  I took a smaller bag from my backpack and shoved several cans of raviolis, stew, greenbeas, and corn into it.  Sumner did the same.

"Come look down the basement with me, will ya?" he asked, and started walking towards a white door with a 2010 calendar on it.  I followed more cautiously, but being Sumner, he yanked the door open noisily.  The sound that came out of him was so scary that I already knew to run.

"Sumner!" I pull him towards the door as Biters stumble out of the door and make horrible gargling noises.  The people who lived here before must've thought it was a good idea to collect flesh-eating monsters.

I fumble with the door knob, shaking uncontrolably.  I finally get it, and Sumner and I sprint down the street.  I take in my surroundings carefully.  Our safeplace is somewhere up there - thats when I see a man ontop of a overturned truck, pointing a gun at the Biters.  He's going to help us!

 Blam!

I fall to the concrete with one feeling: Greatful that Sumner gave me that bulletproof vest.
