The entrance to the Labyrinth was dark and mossy. The ceiling over the stairs was about to cave in, and the stone walls were ancient and worn like some kind of dungeon. Every single footstep Maddy and Lana took echoed off of them.
To most people, the entrance might have seemed like the beginning of a very creepy nightmare, but to Maddy, it was a wonderful dream come true
She had been waiting for 2 years to finally go on a quest. As one of Artemis's hunters, a quest like this wasn't something Maddy took lightly. She felt like it was the only way to prove her courage and loyalty. So, when Artemis herself assigned Maddy to explore the Labyrinth, she jumped at the chance.
Maddy twisted her dirty-blond hair excitedly. She glanced over at Lana, who was scribbling feverishly in her beloved notebook. She, a fellow follower of Artemis, was assisting Maddy on this dangerous quest and recording their findings.
Their mission was to navigate through the Labyrinth and find Daedalus's workshop. Daedalus was supposedly planning on raising the monster Typhon, who could possibly overthrow Olympus. They were to kill Daedalus and destroy his workshop. Maddy wasn't really sure how she felt about the killing part, but she could never let Artemis down.
