Day 13

“Well good morning to you, too.” Calum smirked, laughing as I jumped in surprise.

“Yeah, well you could have warned me that you were standing in front of my house.” I said, holding my right hand over my heart as if I was about to recite the pledge of allegiance, something I hadn’t done in many years.

“But that’s no fun.” He whined, puffing out his bottom lip.

“I never said you were either, did I?” I retort, hugging my book closer to my chest.

“Ouch,” Calum mock winced, “that hurt.”

“Good,” I speed up my pace while throwing a wink over my shoulder. “It was supposed to.”

“Why must you hurt me so?!” He mock cried, exaggeratedly falling over and clutching his book bag to his chest.

“Not sure.” I cheekily smiled, backpedaling so I could offer my hand to help him up.

“You think this is funny?” He asks, pulling me down before I could respond.

“Can I help you?” I giggle, attempting to stand up until he wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me back into his chest.

“Yep, you can help by giving me a kiss.” He smiled, removing one arm from where it resided around my waist to tap his cheek.

I rolled my eyes before obliging, leaning into his chest in order to get a better angle. Right as my lips were about to meet the smooth, caramel skin of his cheek he rotated his head slightly to capture my lips with his own.

“That wasn’t what I agreed to.” I accused, standing up almost immediately after his grip on my waist loosened.

“I never said it had to be on my cheek.” He smirked, throwing his arm so it rested around my shoulders, as per usual.

“You tapped your cheek!” I exclaimed, waving my hands.

“And you kissed my lips.” He retorted, rolling his eyes.

“I think you spend too much time with me,” I point out, “you’ve started rolling your eyes, too.”

“I want to be cheesy but I don’t want you to hit me.” He informed me as the as the dark building that is our school begins to form on the horizon.

“Go ahead.” I sighed, knowing I’ll end up regretting it.

“I don’t think I could ever spend too much time with you, even if we had for-”

“Yeah, way too mushy for me.” I chuckled before intertwining our hands. “But this isn’t.”

“What are you doing tonight?” Calum asked, still grinning from our intertwined hands.

“Nothing,” I laughed, “you know I don’t have a social life.”

“With me you do.” He remarked, slowing his pace as the school began to loom over the two of us.

“Yeah right.” I chuckled, rolling my eyes.

“Seriously? You have me and Aubrey, not to mention the rest of our group.” I subconsciously touched the small tattoo behind my ear at the mention of the group, Ashton being the first one to come to mind.

“If I agree will you let me get to class so I’m not late?”

“That’s a definite maybe.” He grinned, squeezing our locked hands.

“Only if it’s a definite yes.” I wag my free index finger at him.

“Fine,” Calum pouted, “but I want a kiss.”
