Chapter 7 - valentines day dance part 1

Newts pov
This kiss was more intense then the last. My arms were around Sophie, and Sophie's were around me. I moved my hands up and brushed them through her hair. I'm not sure that kiss would have ever stopped if not for an interruption. "Aweeee" me and Sophie quickly broke apart to see pepper, and Bella there with Troy and Sawyer behind them. "Hey guys" Sophie said. "What did I tell you, there a cute couple" said Bella turning around to Sawyer and Troy, ( ignoring us ) "yeah I'm still not sure how this happened, but.... I guess there cute" Troy said. "I told you, the ladies love me" I said in my most masculine voice. Sophie laughed and playfully punched me.  "You sure about that?" She said teasing. "Oh I'm sure" I said teasing back, as I leaned in to kiss her again.

Troys pov
"Ok!, time to go!" I said turning around to leave with Sawyer. "But there so romantic!" Bella said watching newt and Sophie kiss with an adorable smile on her face. Still holding Newt, Sophie turned her head towards us. "Guys would you mind leaving?" She said. "Ok let's give them some privacy, I said pulling Bella to leave with us. "Sorry guys" Bella said when we were far away from Sophie and newt. "It's just, all my relationships that could have been good got ruined, Kyle left, I rejected Charlie, and zach has a girlfriend" she said sadly. I frowned. "Thats... all the relationships you think could have been good?.... I mean, maybe you should try dating someone that you would have never considered dating before.... I mean Sophie probably would have never thought to date newt, but here they are being cute and all that" I said awkwardly.  Recently, I had started having... weird feelings for Bella, and I'm starting to think I might have a crush on her, but I Haven't told anyone yet. "Huh, that's actually a good point" said Bella. "Thanks Troy your a good friend" she said smiling right before she left. I sighed, looks like I'm just a friend to Bella. "I've gotta get to class" Sawyer said leaving. After he had left, pepper gave me a weird smile. "What" I asked her. "You like Bella" she teased with a smile. "I do not!" I responded defensively. "Don't you think I know a crush when I see one?" She said. "Uh uh the troy doesn't crush on people" I said. "Oh come on you so like Bella!" "Fine... but don't tell her!" I responded. "I knew it!" "This is so great!" She said smiling. "What do I do!" I said frowning. "Well if you want Bella to like you your gonna have to be much more romantic" she said. "Romantic?" I asked hesitantly. "Yeah give her flowers, check up on her, tell her she looks pretty, give her a pet name" said pepper. "Are you sure about this?" I asked. "Positive. She replied.

Sophie's pov
"So...valentines day is coming up" newt said smiling at me. "I was thinking we should do something together " he said giving me a cute look as we walked through the halls. "Well there is that valentines dance" I said smiling back at him. "No I mean before that just the two of us" he said. "Ok.. what about dinner?" I suggested. "Dinner sounds great" he said giving me a kiss on the cheek. "Know any places?" I asked. "Don't worry about it I'll pick you up" "you'll pick me up? More like I'll pick you up" "come on Sophie just leg me do something nice for you" he said. I rolled my eyes. "Fine" I said. "Ohhh this is so exciting I love arranging romantic dates!" Newt said running off. I was watching him run off with a smile on my face when I heard someone step up from behind me. I looked behind me to see a girl I recognized as Ashley. Me and her were unspoken enemies. I hated her and though we never talked about it I knew she hated me too. "So your dating newt" she said bitterly. "Uh huh" I replied. "Well we know that won't last long" she laughed to herself. "What are you talking about" I said. "Newts a gentleman, gentlemen like lady like girls." Then she looked me up and down. "Your not a lady like girl" she said giving me a backhanded smile. "Well that won't be a problem, newt likes me, he's had a crush on me for like ever" I said. "That was a crush, its different when your dating, he's gonna want a girl that acts like a girl in a relationship." She said judgementally. Was she right? I mean newt is the kinda guy who I could imagine with a girly girl. That's probably why I had always picture him as not my type. Seeing that she had gotten to me, Ashley gave me an innocent smile "good luck"she said politely as she flipped her bleach blonde hair and walked away. I hate her, I hate her, I hate her. I thought to myself. But she does make a fair point. ( that made me hate her even more )

Bella's pov
I was sitting with pepper and drinking smoothies at the starcade. "Where's Sophie?" I asked. "She told me she had to go emergency shopping." Pepper said. "For the valentines dance?" I asked. "I don't think so, she already has a really nice dress for that" pepper said. "Huh" I replied. "You and Sawyer are going together right?" I asked. "Yeah" she replied. I frowned. "What's wrong" she asked. "I was hoping I could just go with you and Sophie because I don't have a date, but your with Sawyer and Sophie's with newt" I said sadly. "You can still hang with us" pepper said. "I know I just really wished I had a date for the dance"

Troys pov
"I have an idea!!" Pepper said running up to me out of breath. "Wow slow down there" I said. "You have to ask Bella to the Valentine's Day dance!" She said excitedly. "What?!" I said. "She's real bummed because she doesn't have anyone to go with, and if you took her maybe she'd start to like you!" Said pepper speaking very quickly. "Yeah I'm not ready for all that" I said. "Oh come on, don't do it for me, do it for Bella. If you don't ask her she'll have to go alone, on Valentine's Day" she said making me feel guilty. "Alright fine" I replied in defeat. "Any last words of advice?" I asked. "Just remember what I said about being romantic" pepper smiled. "Fine, I'll do it tomorrow at school"
Newts pov
I walked into school the next day looking for Sophie. The day after Tomorrow was the Valentine's Day dance and I was pretty proud of myself. I had planned a romantic day for Sophie. I hoped it would be enough to make her happy. Me and Sophie usually met each other in class. Our first class was the only class we had together and it was a gifted science class. As the first bell rang i was exited to go to class. When I walked into the classroom I hardly recognized Sophie. She was wearing loads of bright coloured makeup, witch I found odd considering she usually didn't wear that much. She also had a pink mini skirt with a matching pink crop top, she was wearing high heels and large hoop earrings. Nothing was wrong with the way she looked, it was still pretty. It was just out of the ordinary. She didn't dress up like this often. It didn't seem like her style. Nonetheless I went to sit down. "Hey Sophie!" I said smiling. "Hey babe" she replied sweetly" "you look good"she added" uhh thanks. I said blushing. Although I'd always be flattered when Sophie complimented me, I did notice the change in her personality, I wonder what she was doing. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "I'm good" she said smiling at me like a doll.

Bella's pov
I was at the starcade with pepper when Troy walked in. He came up to us "hey girl" Troy said looking at me. I smiled back, "I have to go, my pregnant mom needs me!" Pepper said dashing out of the room. Troy sat down. "So... how have you been doing?" He Said softly. "I'd be Better if I could find a date to the stupid Valentine's Day dance" I said   sadly. "I um... I got you a box of chocolates" he said sliding s heart shaped box of chocolates over to me. This was so weird. Did Troy like me? But why was he acting like this? Maybe it was just a weird prank.  " so you say you need a date to the dance" Troy said in a low raspy voice.  "Yup" I said trying to keep this as a normal conversation with a friend . "How bout I take you...beautiful" he said. I blushed. Beautiful? He wants to take me to the dance? Maybe Troy really did like me. But that didn't explain why he was acting like this. But there was still a question to be answered.... should I go to the dance with Troy? Did I like him back. Out of nowhere, my mouth opened and words started to form. But I still had no clue what I was saying.
