Chapter 8

Branch's pov:

I woke up remembering what happened last night and smiled😁. I got dressed thinking this was going to be a great day until I saw a note taped to the outside of my door that read...

"Stay away from her or you'll regret it!!!!😡"

"Who would write me this" I said out loud. "Who would write you what?" a voice said behind me. It was Poppy. "Oh, nothing" he lied trying not to scare her. "You're lying" she said with a smirk😏. "I can read you like a map, what's wrong" she said " I'm fine I promise " he said" ok but will you tell me if somethings bothering you?" She said putting her hands on his shoulders. "promise" he said with a smile. "thank you, now come on I'm having a picnic with the snack pack!" They grabbed each other's hands walked off. "It's probably just someone trying to prank me" he thought as he continued walking. Poppy laid her head on his shoulder as they  walked. They finally reached the picnic and sat down. They ate until they were full and then went home. Poppy and branch walked home together again hand in hand. They finally reached her door. "I had fun" she said smiling."me too" he replied. She leaned in and gave him a peak on the lips. "Goodnight, I love you"
she said. "I love you too, goodnight" he replied.

After she went inside her pod he went next door to his pod and just as he was about to go inside he felt hair wrap around his arms and mouth and was yanked into the forest. Next the thing he knew he was strapped to a tree. A figure slowly walk up to him.

"I warned you to stay away" it said.

"What! Creek?!?" He said with a hint of anger. "But did you listen......no he said. "What are you going to do kill me!?!?" He said now in raged "of course not, now listen closely here's what I want you to do, you are going to go back to that village and never getting near or speak to poppy again!!" He said "why would I do that!?!" He said " because, if you don't I'll kill her!!" He said smiling evilly. " YOU BETTER NOT GET NEAR HER!!!!!" He said screaming " don't worry no harm will come to her...if you do what I say it's your choice weather she lives or not" with that he  releases him and swings away. Branch tried to catch him but no luck. He fell to the ground and began crying at the realization that the only way to protect her is to stay away.
