Adelyns pov
I entered the building and headed straight through the crowd, dodging bodies every where til I got to my locker. I grabbed the things I needed for the first half of the day and headed off to class. I entered amd took my seat next to Nash. He smiled a cheeky smiled which made me smile, I stuck my tongue out at him and he winked.
"Okay class, get quiet. Oh and by the way goodmorning!" I hear Mr. Samuels say.
"Goodmorning!" We all replied.
"Well since we have about a month of school left, we are going to start a book project. This calls for a partner. You will choose a book, do research, make a poster and right a 5 page essay. You have exactly 2 weeks to complete it, and you will present to the class. So today you will choose a partner and plan everything out. So go ahead and began!" Mr. Samuels says.
I look towards Shai wanted her to be my partner. She mouths sorry because she's already partned with Hayes.
I notice a blonde headed girl walk our way.
"Hey Nashyyy!" She says.
"Um hi, Aubree." He replies.
"Gotta partner cutie pie?" She asks winking.
"Yeah, sorry." He answers smiling a fake smile.
He has a partner? I thought to myself. Great now I'm stuck with no one. I see the girl im guessing her names Aubree make a pouty face and pretend to cry. Oh wow, drama queen.
"Well shucks, see ya around?" She says smiling and pecking him on the cheeck.
"Ofcourse." He says fake smiling again.
Are you serious who does that? I have so many questions in my head, I didn't even realize Nash speaking to me.
"Adi." He says.
"Adi.." He says again.
"Adi!" He says once again shaking me this time.
"Sorry." I mumble.
"Whats up?" I ask.
"Um so you see I kinda told Aubree I had a partner.. I really don't though, I just didn't feel like working with her. So I was wondering could we work together maybe?" He asks.
"Well.. um sure!" I answer.
"Phew thanks Adi!" He says.
"More like thank you, I'd be working with a stranger or maybe even that Aubree girl!" I say laughing.
"Yeah, shes a pain. Lets just leave it at that. I'm really not into her." He said while laughing.
"Well I can tell she's definitely into you." I say chuckling.
"Was.. She was into me. She played me louder than the radio, Adi. We had a past, and she's the reason why I barley date now. She broke my heart and now she trys to act like its okay. Wow, sorry I'm like venting to you." He says while smiling.
"Nash, I'm sorry I brought it up. She and any girl would be crazy to play you. You are a great guy, you deserve a great girl." I say sending a reassuring smile with my words.
"Thanks Adi, but honestly I feel so incompatible with every girl here. I just feel like I'm never going to find that one. Ya know?" He says sadly.
"Nash you're still young and you have your whole life ahead of you. You will find that one, I promise. But for now how about we change the subject? I don't like seeing you bummed and not being a goof." I say.
