Ophelia's POV
I couldn't help but stare out of the pubs condensed window as my boyfriend nattered on about god knows what.
I could feel him slipping away from my grasp as the weeks go by, him trying to desperately make this disastrous relationship work.
'The love we're hoping for' bounced around my thoughts as my boyfriend excused himself to go to the bathroom.
I couldn't understand why he was trying to fix this relationship, it's been going down hill for a long time now.
I didn't even notice when he sat back down and took my hands in his.
"Ophelia, we both know we can't play this out for much longer. Why are we torturing ourselves by carrying it on?" He spoke suddenly, yet, I knew it was coming.
I nod in response and turn my head to look him directly in the eyes. His eyes were tired and sad looking.
"You're right, we shouldn't keep this going when we can both find real happiness" I spoke softly.
He looked at me thoughtfully, but quickly stood from his chair and placed his coat on his back, saying his final goodbye he left me sat alone in a pub on a wet miserable Sunday afternoon.
I felt as if all eyes were on me now. I shifted awkwardly in my chair and glanced around the room noticing most people were amongst their own chatter whilst some were focused on the live music in the corner of the room.
The strumming of his guitar was relaxing and I felt stupid for only just realising that he was here.
I felt my saddened eyes watching the boy in the corner singing softly to the small audience, that were listening intently. I felt small goosebumps rise on my skin listening to his voice echo around the room.
Once he played his last strum he looked up and eyed the audience carefully, before locking eyes with mine for only a few seconds and then introducing the next song he carried on.
He definitely intrigued me, but having just escaped the last relationship I wasn't looking for anything much right now.
Taking one last quick glance at the boy I gather my things and slip out the door. With no transport, I'm forced to walk home to my flat.
Fortunately, my boyfriend and I never discussed moving in so the hassle of finding a new flat wasn't necessary.
However, I felt my life get slightly more lonelier than it already was knowing that my boyfriend has left me for good.
