College or Love
Connor and I've been dating for a few months already, and let me tell you those were the best months of my life. Connor was the perfect boyfriend, he was sweet, kind and super helpful. I still can't believe he's my boyfriend, but Mike's still not used to eat, always acting like the big brother I've always wanted.
I woke up the next morning, it was a bright and sunny day. I crawled out off bed like lazy bum that I know I am, I continued crawling towards my closet, I feel like if someone comes in they'll freak out. I finally reached my closet and stood up, then I looked through my clothes, and picked out a pair of jumper shorts and a white plaid shirt.
I took a shower and changed into my clothes. I walked down the stairs towards the kitchen after picking out my leather converse.
"Hi Mom, Dad" I greeted my parents.
"Hey Mel! You got mail today" Dad called out in the living room.
"Really! From who is it" I walked toward where dad was sitting.
"Uhm...let me see" Dad took out his reading glasses "okay here it is Columbia University, NY"
"Wait...what!? The Columbia University as in the Ivy League School!"
"I guess so...here" Dad passed me the envelope "see for yourself"
I jumped around in excitement and fear, what if I don't get in this is like my dream college. I carefully opened the envelope and read the letter:
Dear, Ms. Mellana George,
We are pleased to advise that you have been formally invited to The University of Columbia. Classes will be starting a month from now, and we will be honored for you to join us in New York by then. If you are willing to join us, please inform me immediately for us to give an all expense paid flight over to New York. Enrollment attached to this letter.
Mrs. Margaret Grace Leo-Jones
"OMG" I stared at my Dad with my eyes.
"Why! What did it say" my Dad asked.
"I GOT IN!" I shrieked, then jumped around the living room.
"Hon, our daughter's got in an Ivy League School" my Dad announced smiling widely.
"Wait! Did you just say Ivy League" my Mom walked in and looked at our faces, her eyes widened then she shrieked. My parents came over to me and both gave me a bone crushing hug.
"I knew you had such a great potential the time you learned to read" my Mom whispered, and kissed my forehead.
We continued celebrating by jumping around and screaming when a thought popped up in my mind.
"Wait! Stop!" both my parents froze looking at me "Columbia University is in New York, that's all the way to the opposite side of the US!" I stated, realizing we were in Oregon.
"Then I have to leave you, my friends and..." I hesitated "Connor" I choked out. Connor and I's relationship kinda grew after those few months, so it is kinda hard to seperate from him.
"Oh, Mel it's okay you should go it was your dream to study there" my Mom hugged me trying to comfort me.
"I know that, but now I'm not so sure anymore" I sighed "Thanks for convincing me, but I think I should also care what my friends' would want" I said, heading towards the stairs.
I walked up the stairs and entered my room. I placed my Macbook on my desk and logged into my Facebook, then opened up my group chat with my friends (Mike, Miles, Jules, John, Alec, Drake, Mai, and Sonya).
