After my talk with "the group" well my friends technically, so this made me end up going to Connor's house to talk with his parents. I know I might seem a bit clingy, but we haven't contacted each other in 2 years, I got worried at least I have to know he's still okay.
I parked my car near their driveway since I'm a unexpected visitor, and I might seem rude just parking onto someone's property without their concern.
Getting out of the car, I walked up their porch steps and rung the doorbell. After a minute I heard soft clicks on the tiled floor, then Julia opened the door. She smiled at me and asked if I wanted to come in, which I gladly accepted.
"So Mellana dear, how was college" she asked smiling warmly at me.
"It was great, I gained some friends and met new people" I answered simply.
"Well that's good, so did you come here to see Connor cause he's n-"
I interrupted her, "I know he's not here, cause my friends told me he also left for college. I was just wondering when he would be coming back" I smiled apologetically.
"Oh, as I know it's around this week, I think he told me Thursday, so that means it'll be tomorrow"
"Thanks so much Julia, I just missed him so much. I was then disappointed to hear he wasn't back yet." I said sadly.
"I'm sorry Mel, but I am glad that you at least when he'll be back"
I said my goodbyes to Julia and drove back home.
It was getting dark so I had to get home before I missed dinner. Luckily I was just on time.
I walked in the kitchen and sat down beside my dad on the dining table, and mom bringing our dinner towards the table.
"Great sweetie your here on time" my mom said happily.
"I couldn't miss dinner, especially when it's lasagna night" I answered.
"Ah, still the same old Mel, always thinking about food" my dad chuckled.
"I do not, mom's homemade lasagna is just my favorite that's all" I said defensively.
"Sure you do, just like how my pot roast, turkey, casserole or all my other dishes are your favorites." My mom spoke giving me a pointed look.
"Hey! I never said I only had one favorite" I defended again.
My parents both laughed at me as my face turned bright.
Status: What's wrong with having more than one fave food- feeling embarrassed, defensive

Sorry for the short chapter. This was supposed to be longer, but I might end up writing the next chapter here, so never mind that.
This is actually kinda part of Chapter 8, but I also thought I'll just leave it like this.😁
