A couple days later and Stella was allowed to leave the hospital. Everyone of those days I was there when I could be. I talked to her about lots of stuff. Family, friends, life, pets, the basics. I found out her mom died giving birth to her and her dad left her with her godparents because he couldn't bare to be reminded of his wife. When she was eleven, he came back and explained everything and she started living with him again. She had a step-mom and two younger step-brothers. According to her, her brothers were really annoying. She was young, at least, she was younger than me. She was 26, I'm 27. Not much of a difference, but it's a year.
She started dancing when she was three and instantly loved it. Ballet isn't all she does, but it's mainly what she does. Sometimes she goes to a broadway type theatre and does a tap show there. I told her I wanted to see her tap but she only laughed.
I walked into her hospital room to find that she wasn't in the bed. Where could she be? Didn't we agree I'd drive her home? Did someone else come get her?
"Stella?" I called. The nurse that was in there looked up at me.
"She's just changing."
I nodded. "Okay, thank you." Phew. I actually thought she left without telling me. That would have been an awkward situation...
Just then, Stella walked into the room in regular clothes. Her dad had dropped off some clothes for her yesterday when he visited. It was such a different sight. I was used to seeing her in a hospital gown, laying down in a bed with her hair spread out under her. Now, she was in a Queen cropped tanktop, jean shorts, and her curly hair was pulled into a ponytail. She smiled at me.
"Hey Josh!" She greeted. "Ready to go?"
I nodded, quickly snapping out of my reverie. "Yeah, let's get going. Did you want to get some lunch first?" Ever since she was in the hospital I made sure she was never hungry, I didn't want her to faint again.
She chuckled. "Sure, I'd love to. I haven't eaten yet today."
That scared me a little, but considering she looked fine I didn't stress it too much. I held the door open for her and we walked down together to the parking lot. I steered her towards my car and we both climbed in. I started the engine and drove off to a Tim Hortons.
I didn't really know how to act around Stella. I mean, she was really nice, and I definitely felt something from that kiss but she didn't seem to have thought anything of it. I mean sure, she kissed me back, but she didn't mention it again, and she didn't really give off any signs that she liked me. I don't know, maybe this was just one girl that I couldn't read. Maybe she did like me.
I pulled into the parking lot of Timmie's and shut off the car. I climbed out and Stella and I walked to the entrance. Inside, she ordered a bagel with cream cheese and an ice capp. I ordered a medium coffee and a sandwhich. When we had our food we sat down at an empty table.
"So Josh, when do I get to meet these mysterious band members of yours?" She asked while unwrapping her bagel.
I smirked. "You could meet them today if you really wanted." I said casually.
Stella looks up. "Really? They aren't busy?"
I chuckled. "Trust me, when it comes to meeting a girl, they're never busy." I winked at her and started eating my sandwhich.
She laughed and did the same. We ate our food and left to go to the studio, climbing into my car and driving away.
When we got there, I shut off the engine and leaned back in my seat. "You know, you don't have to do this. They're a bunch of perveted, lonely guys and they will doubtlessly flirt with you."
