Okay, so this is my first fan fiction type story I've ever written and if it's good enough I'll probably continue this as an actual story. If you like it, leave a comment or vote for ir, if you don't, please no hate. Enjoy all you avid readers and fans! I also realise that they'd probably never go to a ballet, but just bare with me. :-)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike and I had left early just to get tickets for this show. Can you even call it a show? It's a performance but its not really a show. Anyways, we were going to a ballet. Yeah, a ballet. Can you believe that? We even had to dress up in suits and for what? So Mike could watch his cousin dance.
She didn't have the lead, but she still had a pretty major roll, according to Mike. We got our tickets and made our way into the theatre. It was everything you'd expect it to be. A giant stage with row upon row of plush, velvet theatre seats. We sat down in our seats, third row from the front, dead centre and waited for the dance to start.
To be honest, I was extremely bored. I didn't even know what story this dance was doing. I fell asleep a couple of times until a beautiful girl came on stage and was right in front of everyone. From what I could see, her hair was brown, a very light brown, almost caramel. I couldn't see the colour of her eyes but they were still almost hypnotic. "Is that your cousin?" I whispered to Mike. I really hoped it wasn't. The girl was beautiful and we all had a pact that we wouldn't date any female family members of one of our band mates. He shook his head (Thank gosh!) and pointed to a dancer that was just walking on stage. She was pretty too, but I had to meet that other girl.
After the show Mike and I went backstage to see his cousin. Well, he'd be seeing his cousin, I'd be finding that girl. I made an excuse that I needed the bathroom but once I had slipped away from Mike, I went out to find the dancers' dressing room. I reached the dressing room and a girl, wearing a t-shirt and jeans, walked out. She had a gym bag slung over her shoulder and was holding a costume bag. Her light brown hair was slicked back into a bun and I instantly knew who it was. It was the dancer that I saw before.
"Excuse me?" I said, catching her attention.
She looked up at me and smiled. "Yes?"
"I,uh...just wanted to tell you that you're an amazing dancer. And could I maybe get your name?"
She nodded. "Sure, it's Stella, and thank you, but I really have to go." There was a sort of worried tone in her voice and she started to walk away, but I followed.
"Hi Stella, I'm Josh." I greeted her.
She laughed. "Good evening, Josh."
I smiled at myself. A simple hello from this girl and my stomach burst into butterflies.
She continued, "So, Josh, what do you do for a living?"
"I sing."
"Are you a soloist, or do you have a band?" She seemed genuinely curious and I liked that. I didn't mind answering questions, as long as they weren't stupid.
"I'm in a band called Marianas Trench. In fact, I'm here with one of my bandmtes." I replied.
She nodded. "Wow, a rockstar at a ballet? Fairly unheard of."
I chuckled. "Yeah, well his cousin was dancing so we came to support her."
Stella smiled. "How sweet." She stumbled a bit, and I caught her by the arm.
"Not very graceful for a prima ballerina."
She laughed. "I'm just hungry, I guess." We were approaching a table that seemed to be collecting the dancers' costumes. When we were a couple steps away, I noticed Stella fall. I reached out to catch her but not before her head hit the table. I held her unconscious body and cried for someone to call an ambulance.
In her hospital room I sat on a chair by her bed, waiting for her to wake up. I didn't know why I stuck around, but something about this girl was special. I heard a rustling of sheets and looked up to find Stella staring at me.
"Josh? What...what happened?" She asked, her voice quiet and confused.
"You...um, you fainted and hit your head. You were bleeding and the doctor had to give you stitches, but otherwise you're alright."
She smiled a bit. "Sorry. I faint a lot. Usually because I get hungry. You see, after a show I have something to eat but I forgot to bring anything..."
I shook my head. "Don't apologize, it's not your fault." I stood up and moved so I was closer to her. I brushed some stray hair from her face and before I knew it, my lips were on hers, kissing her. I kissed her lightly and she kissed me back. Just the feeling of her lips on mine made my heart race and my palms sweat and I knew there was a reason for it. A reason that I hoped was true, and not me being a fool.
