My Lover's Doppleganger

Chapter 1

It's official, I'm losing my mind.

It wasn't enough that I fell in love with the most popular guy at our school, who is also, might I add, a complete and utter jerk. But my friends decided it was a good idea to ask him out.

I refused immediately, but since we were playing truth or dare, and me being the adventurous brave girl I am, I chose dare, so it was against the rules to chicken out.

"Come on, just do it!" My bestfriend Sky pleaded for the hundredth time now.

After a lot of thinking, I decided to accept, what am I gonna lose anyway? Well except my dignity and self esteem.

I tried to stop myself from overthinking and I just sighed.

"Okay, fine, I'll do it"

"Yaay!!" Sky and Megan chanted while clapping their hands excitedly.

After playing some more truth or dare, we decided to call it a day and went to sleep.

I couldn't sleep though, I kept thinking about tomorrow, how am I gonna approach him? Tyler is an asshole, and everyone in school knows it, he's been with more girls that I can count, and the reason why everyone likes him is beyond me.

Huh, ironic of me to say since I'm the one who's madly in love with him.

But who can blame me, the guy is hot.

I woke up to the sound of the most annoying alarm in the world, I silently cursed myself for putting my phone far away from me.

Grunting, I pushed sky's hair away from my face and tried to stand up but megan's leg wouldn't budge from the top of mine, I shall never sleep in the middle of these two, and why the hell did we even have a sleepover on a school night?

I finally succeeded to get off bed safe and sound, I shut off my alarm and went to take a shower.
After I got out, I stood staring amazed at Megan and Sky who are still sound asleep.

I grinned as a devilish thought went through my mind.

I tiptoed to the other side of my bed searching for my phone, when I found it, I decided to play the loudest song I had on my phone. Right after it started I bounced on top of my bed whilst hitting both of my friends with my pillow.

They screamd in annoyance which made me laugh harder.

"For fuck's sake, turn it off!!" Megan yelled

"Not until you get your lazy asses out of bed" I yelled on top of the loud music.

Realizing that there's no hope in getting any more sleep, they gave up and finally woke up.

"Fine! We're up, just turn off this damn music" Megan yelled again while Sky hopped out of bed, grunting in frustration and stomping her feet like a little kid.

Laughing, I got out of bed and stopped the music from playing, and went to change my clothes.

"Hurry up girls, it's almost school time"

"He's right there just go talk to him" Megan said as I shut my locker angrily.

"But what if he rejects me? What if I confess my undying love for him and he just laughs at my face. I mean look at him, he's cute and attractive and every girl in the world is throwing herself at him, why would he even like me? No, nope, I'm not risking my reputation just to end up hurt" I said finally stopping to take a breath.

"What reputation?" Megan said nonchalantly.

"Geez Megan, could you be any more rude?" Sky said, glaring at her.

"You know what? You're right, I'm not popular like him, I have no reputation whatsoever, which means I have nothing to lose, I'll just go and tell him."

"You go girl!" Megan said with a wide grin placed on her face.

I started walking towards him, but I hesitated for a moment and turned towards my friends.

"But what if-"

I didn't have time to finish as they pushed me yelling "GO!"

I sighed. Well, here goes nothing.

Tyler was leaning against the locker with a blond girl on his side. And damn she is pretty, how am I gonna compete with her?

I shaked my head to stop myself from overthinking again. I took a deep breath and stepped forward, pulling out my best smile.

He didn't seem to notice me as he was flirting with the blondie, I regretted coming here in the first place but this isn't the time to run away so I decided to initiate the conversation.

"Hi tyler" I said smiling shyly.

He turned his head to me with a smirk placed on his face.

"Hello there beautiful" he said in a flirty tone.

I blushed bending my head down and placing a strand of hair behind my ear. I'm suddenly at lost for words.
Fuck, why didn't I think this through.

"Um, I was thinking If we could... Um, If we could go out sometime, I mean whenever you're free, you know, to hang out, me and you, together" I laughed nervously, God, I'm such a failure.

The girl next to him shoot me a glare that I tried my best to ignore.

Leaning his back against the locker, Tyler folded his arms across his chest while looking me up and down with a smirk still placed on his face. Just when I was about to run away he finally answered.

"Sure thing love, what's your name though?"

Stupid me, of course he doesn't know my name, he probably didn't even know I existed until I came to him.

"Um, I'm Rosie"

I said smiling, and hiding the pain that I expected, but did not expect to hurt this much.
