By the time I got home, it was already getting dark. Mom and Lily were having dinner so I decided to join them before heading straight to bed.
I changed my clothes before landing on bed with a sigh. There's nothing better than snuggling between your fresh comfy sheets after a long stressful day.
I checked my phone already expecting the many calls I got from my friends so I decided to call them back. I dialed Megan's number first because I knew how furious she'd be. So I better call her first and get done with it.
"ROSE WHAT THE FUCK!"
I heard Megan's voice pierce through my ear as soon as she picked up causing me to pull the phone further away from my ear.
"Hello to you too Megan." I answerd sarcastically.
"WE'VE BEEN CALLING YOU ALL DAY WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!" She yelled again.
I heard some shuffling and muttering in the background before someone else took the phone.
"Rosie?"
"Ah Sky, thank god." I said sighing in relief as I recognized Sky's voice in the other line. I was not in the mood for Megan's outrage right now.
"We've been worried, are you okay?" She asked concerned.
"Yeah I'm fine, I just got back home a while ago and I'm getting ready for bed." I replied.
There was a long pause before she started talking.
"Um...So...did you see Tyler?" She asked hesitantly.
"Um...yeah I did."
"And? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah everything's fine, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow."
Except nothing was fine. I thought to myself.
"Okay, good night."
"Good night." I said before shutting off my phone and hugging the pillow tightly against my chest as I slowly drifted to sleep.

"Good morning Mom." I greeted my mother who was already making lunch as I made my way to the kitchen.
"Good morning sweetie, how did you sleep?" My mom asked, smiling softly.
"Good." I replied as I took a seat by the kitchen table. "Where's Lily?" I asked as my eyes scanned the area looking for her.
She'd always wake up early, even on weekends, and it was strange not see her running around the house, I wonder how someone can be that energetic even in mornings.
"She stayed over at her friend's house, Emily. She'll be back tonight." My mom answered.
"Oh, so the food is all mine!" I chanted excitedly causing my mom to chuckle.
Shaking her head she replied "Of course it is, Rosie."
She smiled at me and I smiled back.
My mom has always been my best friend, ever since my dad left when I was 10 years old. Lily was 2 at the time, but that never stopped my mother from taking care of us and loving us unconditionally.
After I finished my breakfast, I glanced at my mom who was still focused on her cooking.
I cleared my throat, before calling her. "Hey mom."
"Yeah sweetie?" She answered, still not bothering to take her eyes off whatever it is that she was cutting.
"I have to meet a friend at the park today, can I please go?"
