A Chance Meeting (Social Media)

Part 4: Real Life

Ariana'sPOV:

Thank god the red carpet was over. It was so stressful and I had so much anxiety, but I think I hid it well. Liz helped me a lot too, because we mostly posed together for photos, which made me more relaxed.

The show is about to start soon. Stephen Colbert is the host this year which I am really excited about. He is really funny and I can't wait to see what he is going to do tonight. 

I'm sitting with Liz in the 10th row, I expected to sit more in the back but sitting in the front rows is so cool. So many great actors are sitting so close to me, I'm freaking out. Jennifer Lawrence already talked to me and told me that my impression of her was 'spot-fucking-on'. My reaction that was a stunned impression while I creepily stared at her and muttered a thank you, followed by me expressing my love for her and her work.

After gushing to Liz about the many famous actors that are here tonight, I spotted some of my favouritves Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson sitting a few rows in front of me. My inner nerd went totally nuts, I really like the Marvel movies. A lot of people don't know that about me.

Then the Emmy Awards started and Stephen's monologue was hilarious. Hairspry live was nominated for 7 Emmys:

I'm really proud of this team, they all worked so hard and they deserve to win these awards. Halfway through the show they've already announced 4 of our 7 categories and we even won for the technical direction. I couldn't be prouder of them.

As Stephen announced the break, I decided to go outside for a bit because I needed some fresh air. I stood outside for a few minutes when I felt a light tap on my shoulder.

Tom'sPOV:

Harrison and me were one of the first people to enter the venue so we saw everyone walking in. 15 minutes before the show started Harrison nudged me to see who was walking in. Ariana Grande. I saw her walking in with her friend. Ariana looked so beautiful and elegant in her red dress. Of course her hair was in a ponytail, but it just suits her so much. Well, everything she does with her hair suits her.

Harrison snickered beside me, because I was staring at her. I just knew I had to talk to her, but I was so nervous. The show started and Stephen Colbert did fantastic in his monologue. During the show my eyes just naturally wandered back to her. I couldn't help myself, she is my celebrity crush and we're in the same vicinity.

The whole time Harrison either made fun of me because of my obvious staring or encouraging me to go and talk to her during commercial breaks.
When Hairspray Live won she jumped up in her seat and was the first person to do so. Ariana cheered for them so loudly and began laughing because she just didn't care about anyone judging her. Seeing her face light up like that made me realise that I have to go talk to her or I'm gonna regret it.

During one of the breaks she got up and went outside.

"This is your chance! Go talk to her!" Harrison encouraged me.

"I know. I have to do it." 

I jumped up and followed her very quickly. As I began to come closer to the door where she had just gone through, I lost all my confidence. My breathing got faster, my palms were sweaty and my heart beat so fast I'm sure she could hear it from outside.

Nonetheless I summoned my last bit of courage, took a deep breath and opened the door.
