The manticore saw the injured Nico and lunged at him, but right before he could set his claws into Nico's skin, he turned to dust by Will's arrow.
Will let out a sigh of relief, at least they didn't have to worry about that monster right now.
He ran up to Nico and fed him some ambrosia from their backpacks. He carefully looked at the arrow wound, it wasn't that deep.
Will tried to get it out without hurting Nico much more, but some inhabitants started yelling and grabbed for their phones.
Nico didn't know how to describe the wound in his arm. He had been injured worse, but this one did hurt the best. It felt like he was thrown into hell again.
After a few long minutes, Will got the arrow out of Nico's arm and Nico got unconscious. Fortunately, no muscles were hit with the sharp point of the arrow.
"Nico, everything is going to be fine, don't worry." Will said and placed a small kiss on Nico's forehead.
Everything was going to be fine, but the crowd in the street thought different about that.
The crowd got cleared up by the police and an ambulance and two police cars arrived at the end of the small street. Will wondered what the people saw through the mist. But with the sight on the police cars, he doubted it would be a good thing. It had probably looked like he had shot Nico with a gun and now he probably was going to get arrested, too. Just great.
But he couldn't leave Nico alone. Monsters could fine him and they had to finish their quest. He had to find a way to explain the police that this wasn't his fault, he had too. Otherwise, this quest would be a total disaster.
The police aimed their guns at Will and he threw his hands up in surrender.
The ambulance workers placed the unconscious Nico on a stretcher and took him with them to the hospital.
Will felt ashamed, it was his fault they were separated. If he had aimed at a better point, none of this would've happened.
The police grabbed Will and Nico's weapons and backpacks and placed them in the car. Will needed to get out and at least with only their weapons, but fighting the police in a small street Rome wasn't the best option.
So, instead of fighting the police, he let them bind his hands with handcuffs.
A young policeman led Will to the car and pushed him inside, while saying something in Italian. After he saw Will's confused face, he asked him if he spoke English. Will nodded.
"We're going to take you to the police station and when the officer has time, ask you a few questions. You don't have to answer or questions, but remember that everything you say or don't say can be used against you." Will nodded and the policeman threw the door shut.
The ride to the police station was short, but not pleasant. Will's hands were hurt from the pressure they got from his back and Will's head was hurt from worrying about Nico.
Why can't quests be easy for once?
The same young policeman got Will out of the car and pushed him to the entrance of the building in front of him.
Will tried to take in how the station's corridors made their way through the building. But it was difficult to do that when his head was pushed down.
He got pushed into a cell. It was dark and their was only a bench, but that was enough space for Will to make a plan to escape.
"What's your name?" the cop asked when he locked the door.
