Chapter Eleven - The Misunderstanding

Kyungsoo glanced around the room, his big, round eyes still looking to see if Kai was hidden somewhere. He slipped out of the bed, feeling his body ache all over. Standing up he began to walk towards the door of the bedroom, hearing some banging noises on the other side of the door. He quickly slipped on his clothes, and some shoes. He grasped the door knob with his hand and hesitated in turning it, having a strange feeling.

He finally opened the door, pushing it ajar slightly as he peered outside into the dorm lounge. To his surprise he saw Kai pinned up against the stove of the kitchen, locked onto a kiss with Taemin. Kai saw Kyungsoo in the corner of his eye and pushed Taemin away as fast as he could. Kyungsoo started shaking, trembling from the shock of what he’d seen. Taemin turned and saw Kyungsoo by the door “Oh hi D.O” Kyungsoo started walking across the dorm lounge towards the door of the lounge. Kai shouted across to Kyungsoo “Hyung wait! It’s not what you think!” Kyungsoo ignored him and ran out of the room to the dorm, running off without another glance.

#Flashback to what happened.

Kai was laid on the bed with Kyungsoo, his face went a little red just by looking at his sleeping face. The door of their room opened and in came Taemin saying in a loud voice “Kai, I come bearing gifts!” Taemin’s eyebrow raised as he saw Kai and Kyungsoo both half dressed in bed together. Kai was surprisingly normal even though his best friend had just walked in on this kind of scene. Kai got out of the bed and put on some clothes before turning to Taemin who was still in shock. Kai muttered to him “Let’s go in there, he’s asleep.” Taemin nodded and they both went next door into the dorm lounge.

Kai walked over to the kitchen part of the room and grabbed down a glass from the cupboard. Taemin leant down against the kitchen counter watching him, waiting for him to say something. Kai finally spoke “What are you doing here at this time?” Taemin grinned and answered “That’s all you’re going to say to me, I just walked in on you half dressed with D.O in your bed.” Kai poured water into his glass and took a quick sip from the glass. He replied “What do you want me to say?” Taemin bluntly asked him “You slept with D.O?” Kai hesitated before replying but finnaly came straight out with it “Yeah, I did.” Taemin narrowed his eyes still shocked at this scenario, he stood up off the kitchen counter. He walked over to Kai and stood in front of him, Kai leant back slightly his backside pressing against the stove “What’s up with you Taemin?” Taemin started talking “I admit I’m surprised you like guys after all the girlfriends you had in high school but you must know already how I feel about you then?” Kai half knew what he was saying but didn’t want to believe it so he answered “What you going on about Tae…” Taemin grabbed onto his arms, holding him back against the stove as he said “I’ve been in love with you since I met you.” Kai’s eyes widened and Taemin leant in towards him planting a kiss on his lips. Kai was frozen in shock; his best friend was in love with him. Is this how Kyungsoo feels about him?

Kai glanced into the corner of his eye and saw that Kyungsoo had appeared at the door. He suddenly got back to his senses and pushed Taemin off him. He watched Kyungsoo begin to walk across the room and listened as Taemin greeted him. Kai shouted at him “Hyung wait! It’s not what you think!” Taemin muttered something to Kai “Let him go.” Kai shoved Taemin out of the way and frowned at him, running out of the dorm after him.

#Back to when D.O run off.

Kyungsoo was running down the road, again he didn’t know where he was running to he just wanted to get away. This time he was being chased though, he heard Kai shouting him from behind, calling out his name. Kyungsoo reached a set of traffic lights and stopped, holding his knees as he tried to regain back his breath. He saw Kai catching up to him and he ran across the crossing to the other side, stopping there as the pedestrian lights went red. Kai was stuck on the other side, he shouted across to Kyungsoo “Hyung, it’s not what you think it is!” Kyungsoo shouted back at him “Just leave me alone Kai!” Kai shouted at him “Stop calling me Kai, just listen to me!” The pedestrian lights went green and Kai started walking across the crossing towards Kyungsoo. Kyungsoo shouted at him again “I think I like you, you idiot!” Kai stopped in the middle of the road, taken back by Kyungsoo’s words he was in complete shock. Without realising the lights went back to red and Kai was still stood in the middle of the road. Kyungsoo shouted at him “I thought I did! If you liked Taemin you shouldn’t have messed about with me!” Kai just stood there shocked and overwhelmed with what Kyungsoo was saying.

Kyungsoo watched him just stood there in silence. Kyungsoo’s eyes widened as he saw a car in the distance speeding down towards the road. He looked over at Kai who didn’t look like he was going to move anytime soon. Kyungsoo screamed with all of his might at him “Jongin! Move out of the way!” It took Kai a while to realise what Kyungsoo was saying to him, but when he did he still didn’t move. He turned his head to the side looking at the approaching car, hesitating in where he was going to move too. The car screeched as it tried to break as fast as it could but it was going too fast. The car hit and swerved into the side of the road, breaking just before it went into a nearby shop.

Kai’s body felt cold all over, he didn’t know what he was more in shock over. He just laid there on the ground; his whole body was cold but his chest. He raised one of his hands to his chest and felt warmth lingering there. Kai remembered he was pushed; some ones hands pushed his chest. His eyes shot open and he was looking up at the sky. He sat up, he was lying on the road but he wasn’t hurt severely anywhere. He glanced over to the other side of the road where by now a huge crowd was gathered. People gathered around him asking him if he was alright but he ignored them. He couldn’t see Kyungsoo anywhere. He got up and ran towards the big crowd, pushing his way past the people in the crowd. He glanced down to the blood on the floor, red filling the colour of the road. Kyungsoo was laid down on the road, blood spilling out of his head. Kai shouted as loud as he could “KYUNGSOO!” He just laid there like a lifeless corpse, not moving an inch.

Later on that day, Kyungsoo opened his eyes. He was laid down in a hospital bed, his head was bandaged up and his leg seemed to be in a cast. He was surrounded by various people. His manager, his eleven band mates and even a couple of the members of Super Junior; Ryeowook, Donghae and Eunhyuk. EXO put money together and got him loads of spicy black bean noodle dishes, and flowers with their card, whereas Ryeowook bought him a cake. Everyone but Ryeowook and Kai had left the room by now, getting back to their busy schedules. Ryeowook was sat at the edge of the bed, playing with Kyungsoo’s cheeks for ages. Kyungsoo murmured to him “Hyung…” Kai was purposely not looking at Ryeowook as he played with Kyungsoo. Kyungsoo moaned at him again “Hyung…” Ryeowook laughed and pat him on the head “Fine, I need to go back to the radio station anyways, get some rest and get better soon, alright?” Kyungsoo nodded to him and watched him as he left the room. Kyungsoo felt nervous being alone with Kai, his irritated vibes were too obvious, and the tension in the room was horrible.

Kai finally said something, turning to Kyungsoo he looked him right into his eyes and scowled “You are the worst.” Kyungsoo was completely baffled, he instantly replied back “What are you on about, I just saved your life!” Kai shouted at Kyungsoo “Are you an idiot! You’re lucky your injuries aren’t worse, you’re lucky you’re not dead!” Kyungsoo frowned a little and looked away from Kai. Kai carried on “Think about it, if I were to choose you being hit by a car or me, which would I choose?” Kyungsoo didn’t reply, he didn’t want too. Kai answered his own question “Me. If you were dead, I wouldn’t know what to do anymore. Selfish brat.” Kyungsoo was still not looking at Kai. His eyes began to water and he let tears stream down his cheeks which Kai soon noticed. Kai grunted and grabbed one of his arms turning him to see his face “Hey…don’t cry!” Kyungsoo grabbed onto Kai’s shirt, pulling Kai into a hug with him. He started crying into Kai’s shirt and Kai wrapped his arms around him. Kyungsoo sniffled “I thought you liked Taemin?” Kai frowned and replied “Are you an idiot, did you forget what I told you last night. You’re the most important person to me.” Kyungsoo stopped crying and wiped his eyes on Kai’s shirt. They were still hugging though, embraced in one another’s arms in silence. Until…

“Boys…we just walked into a very touching scene, should we have knocked first.” The voice came from the doorway of the hospital room and there was stood the leader of VIXX, N. He stood there smirking at Kai and Kyungsoo whilst the rest of the VIXX members laughed. Kyungsoo and Kai instantly let go of one another and looked in sync to the band members of VIXX. N grinned “Why such the long faces, we heard about D.O and we came in peace?” Kai clenched his fist slightly looking at N, he snarled at him and N returned his glance with a friendly smile, half smiling half smirking.
