A Day with Hayes

Ali's POV: 

I woke up the next morning around 9:30. It was my first full day in North Carolina... whoa. I checked my phone to see that i had some texts. The first was from my mom 

From: Mom <3

Good Morning Ali, your dad and I are taking a walk around town with Buddy (Buddy is our golden retriever that's 5 months old) to get to know the place a little better. Were gonna get breakfast so I'll see you in about 3 hours. If you or Liam would like to join just text back.    xo.

i didn't feel like going so i just ignored her text 

the next text was from Emily

From: Emily My BFFFFFFF

WE MISS YOU HERE!!!! Cali feels empty w/o you <3

i replied saying how much i miss them to and i told them to call me as soon as possible so i can tell them all about Hayes. Speaking of Hayes... my next text was from him. He gave me his number before he left yesterday.

From: Hayes

ALI WAKE UP!     Since its your first day in NC Im taking you on a tour around town, so be ready by 1! 

To: Hayes

hahha kk ill be ready

After I replied to some more texts i got up and showered. Once i got out i blow dried my hair and just decided to keep it down but pin a small section of my hair in the front back. I got changed and wore highwaisted shorts, flip flops, and a crop top that was a pretty mint color. (mint is my favorite color) 

I made my way downstairs to see Liam trying to make waffles. He put some on a plate for me. I took one bite and quickly fell in love. See Liam is an amazing cook but yet he has no interest in being one. He can make anything you ask for and it would taste like heaven. But if i ever told a soul that he could cook he would probably disown me and say we aren't siblings hahah. 

I looked up at the clock and it read 11:04. Hayes wouldn't be here for another 2 hours. I know i ignored my invite from my parents about going on a tour and accepted Hayes but my parents would have made it boring, at least with Hayes i could have some fun.

Hayes POV:

Today seems like its taking forever and its only 11 o'clock. I woke up at 8:45 to the screams of joy coming from Skylnn my little sister as she jumped on my bed to wake me up. I laughed as i asked her what she was doing,

"Skylnn what are you doing!" i laughed

"Jumping like a horsie!!" the tone in her voice was coming out like 'duhh' 

we both made our way downstairs and ate some breakfast. All i have been doing all day is sitting around doing nothing. I just couldn't wait until i could hangout with Ali. 

*** FINALLY 1 O'CLOCK ***

Ali's POV:

I hear the doorbell ring and start making my way to the front door. I see Hayes standing there. All of a sudden i start getting butterflies in my stomach.. Wait.... How could i like a boy that i barely knew?!

"Hey!" he says

"Hi!" 

"you ready to go? Im thinking we could stop by this ice cream shop two blocks down."

"Yeah that sounds good." 

we started walking and he kept pointing at the buildings and parks around town, telling me about all of them. Finally, we ended up at the ice cream shop. I ordered chocolate and he order vanilla. Instead of eating at the shop we went to the park next to it and sat at one of the benches. 

"I know this may seem weird, but -- bu -- ..." He kept on stuttering you could hear the hesitation in his voice. 

"But what..?" i said trying to get him to spill.

"Butitfeelslikeiveknownyouforevereventhoughwehaveonlyknowneachotherforaday." he stared at the ground as the words quickly spilled out of his mouth.

"what?" i said laughing a little 

" but it feels like ive known you forever even though we have only known each other for a day..." this time he stared right into my hazel eyes.

i didn't realize that it took me awhile to reply so i think he thought that it was to soon and that he scared me away, when really i was just so shocked that he felt the same way.

"im sorry, i mean its ok that you don't feel that way and like we have only known each other for less than a day, but --" i interrupted him as he tried to explain himself.

"Hayes... its okay. I was thinking the same thing." I laughed as i saw a smile spread across his face.

we talked some more, but it felt less awkward as it did before. It really did feel like we have been friends forever.

we threw our ice cream away and decided to go climb a tree. I have no idea why but it seemed like a fun idea at the time. I mean its not like we both climb trees for fun. 

The tree was to high for me so i had to put my foot in his hands as he lifted me up. After about 3 failed attempts we were both in the tree. 

I snapped two little branches off the tree branch that was next to me and handed one to Hayes.

"Whats this for?" he asked

"so we can carve something in the tree!" i said a little to eagerly

we both laughed and he almost fell backwards. I had to grab him by his shirt so that he wouldn't fall. I could feel his abs against my hand as he got balanced again. We both realized the chemistry and looked up into each others eyes. But then we both quickly looked away, knowing that it was too soon. 

We made sure that neither of us could see what each other was carving. I carved the date that was yesterday.

(i know this is date hasn't happened yet but they are going into eighth grade so i have to go ahead)

Hayes said that his was done so we both climb to where each others carvings were. When he saw mine he asked what it was 

"Ali whats this date stand for?" 

"Thats the day we met. So this way in the future when we come back we will never forget."

he blushed a little and i could see a smile coming to his face.

I turned to look at his and i felt butterflies.

he carved are initials with a heart around it saying forever.

i turned to look at him and smiled. I could see his cheeks start to blush. 

After we were down in the tree we kept on going with the tour. Until we ran into my parents...

we were near the cafe that was on a corner when my mom spotted me through the window.

"Hey honey!" she yelled waving to me

"Hi mom!" i said while grabbing Hayes hand dragging him to where the were.

"Whos this Ali?" my dad asked.

"Oh this is Hayes, he's our neighbor thats my age... hes just giving me a tour around town." 

"hello, its nice to meet you" he waved his left hand a little while my hand was still in his right.

i quickly realized that we were holding hands, and just dropped it casually, he didnt seem to realize anything weird by it so he just kept on with our conversation with my parents.

after awhile of just talking, Hayes and i walked back home. It was now 4:00.

Only an hour and a half before the party. When i got home i decided that all i was going to do was change my outfit and reapply my makeup. Time flu by and it was now 5:25. 

Hayes should be here any minute.
