When the Children Cry

Will's POV
I was editing a parkour map I did with Graser when I got a phone call from H. I grabbed my phone and answer.

Willy Wonka: Whats up H

H💣: Will... I don't know to tell you this...

Willy Wonka: Tell me what?

H💣: Will... Shelby... she's...

Willy Wonka: What's wrong with her?

H💣: She's Dead

I heard what he said but I didn't want to. I know its true but I don't want it to be. How can she be dead. I felt like my heart had been ripped out if my chest. The love of my life was dead.

H💣: Will... I don't know if she told you this yet or not nut she was pregnant.

H's words snapped me back to reality. Then when I heard the words 'she was pregnant' I flipped.

Willy Wonka: She was what...

H💣: She was pregnant.

Willy Wonka: No... she died with the baby... no!

H💣: The baby is still alive.

Willy Wonka: What! How!

H💣: I don't really understand it but apparently she was shot in the chest. The baby wasn't harmed and therefore is still alive. But it only has 2 days before it dies too.

Willy Wonka: Thank you H. I will fly out tonight.

I ended the call and just sat there in disbelief. I then started packing stuff up and bought a last minute ticket.

When the plane landed I was picked up by Liam. He took my to his hotel where we are staying. I turned on the T.V. to try to distract myself.

The news is on. They are talking about Shelby. They called her a hero. They said she saved a five year old girl. They then said the man who killed her has been caught.

I turned off the T.V. off. Shelby had died doing what she does best, helping people.

I started crying thinking about how will never be able to help someone again. I thought about how I will never get to see her smile. I will never get to hear her laugh. I will never hear her sweet voice. I will never get to hear her say she loves me. We will never get to raise our child.

I will go see her tomorrow. They have her in a hospital so they can monitor the baby. I head to bed and cry myself to sleep.

I wake up next morning hoping it was all a bad dream and that she was alive. Unfortunately it wasn't. She was gone forever. No one can change that.

I hop into the shower and get dressed. Then Liam takes me to the hospital. I see Shelby in that bed lifeless and break into tears. I rush to her side and kiss her. Her lifeless lips are cold. Never will we get to make love again.

I see how bug she is and think about the baby. It only has one day left. I start to cry again as I think that I will never get to see my baby. Then I think of something.

"Doctor!" I call.

A doctor runs to my room. "What's wrong?" She asks urgently.

"I want to see my baby!" I demand.

"But mister Kiing, if we do that the baby will die within the hour!" She said shocked.

"I don't care! I need to see my child!" I demand again.

"Very well Mr. Kiing," she responds. She shoos me out and get more doctors to help her.

When they finished I'm invited back into the room. I see a tiny little baby, about the size of my hand.

"It's a girl," the doctor informs me.

"Thank you," I respond with a nod.

The doctor leaves leaving me with a dead Shelby and our new born baby who had only minutes to live.

What did I do to deserve this? I ask myself.

The baby looks at me with big brown eyes just like Shelby's. I don't know why but I decided to say a song to her.

"Little child, dry your crying eyes. How can I explain the fear you feel inside. You where born into this evil world were man is killing man and know one knows just why. What have we become? Just look what we have done. All that we destroyed you must build again. When the Children Cry... let them know we tried. When the Children sing, the new world begins."

I watch a smile spread across my daughter's face as her chest rise and falls for the last time.

I then think to myself, It will all be better soon... when the Children Cry.

I am crying right now! Oh my Gosh! That was so sad! Thank you for reading chapter 13. Next chapter is the last one! The song Will was saying is the song that is the title. Bye!
