The sun was right at its solar noon, the shadows of the town, the people, everything. Vincent Miles, grabbing a few things for his grandfather, before he heads back to the farm. He isn't your usual farm boy. Driving around in his father's old 1970 Chevy pickup still surprised that it works. The last thing that he had of his father since his mother sold the rest.

Vincent was the spitting image of his father with the eyes of his grandmother. High school sweethearts his parents were, that is until they had a big fight which led to a nasty divorce. Vincent was devastated, his mother was married by a year and well you know what happened to his father.

Vincent opened the door to his car and got out, he looked up at the sign that read "Joyce's" the local supermarket. God knows the closest Walmart is forty-five minutes away. Vincent walked in and was instantly greeted by the smell of fresh... lemons?

"Hey Mr. Harper how are you?" he waved at Mr. Harper the owner on Joyce's. "How's the wife?" he asked trying to make conversation.

"she's great if you're about to ask, Vicky's in the backroom waiting for you." Mr. Harper told Vincent as he told his eyes off his paper. Vincent just chuckled.

Vincent looked down and spun on his heel as he started to walk in the direction of the backroom. He stopped and stared at a crate, he saw nothing but the pale red color. He looked down at them and grabbed one "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" he whispered to himself as he grabbed the most tinted one.

He walked towards the backroom passing the fruit and veggies. Finally, he saw the sign that read employees only he chuckled.  "Buenos dias vicky!" Vincent chirped up as he saw the blonde haired girl. Vicky turned around as she put her hand on her hip, "Well, aren't you a ray of sunshine today?" her sapphire blue eyes met his instantly.

"I have a good feeling about today" Vincent smirked as he popped a grape in his mouth "Are you almost done with your shift?". "Just about it, I need to go to the boutique a few blocks away can you come with me?" Vicky asked.

"Yea of course, as long as you help me unload after." Vincent replied as he downed another grape, Vicky just rolled her eyes.
