"Are you excited?" I asked my mom. We sat in the dressing room back stage whilst she got her hair and makeup done. I stared at her the whole time. She looked perfect.
"Just a little nervous is all. But other than that I'm completely ready." She gave a little smile. All of a sudden, one of her crew members rushed through the room screaming.
"IT'S COMING! IT'S COMING!" Everyone was staring at him in confusion. We all just ignored him, he was always a bit mad, he had a crazy personality. Probably just excited for the show.
Until he started vomiting.
It was a blackish colour. He was throwing up blood with it too.
I stood up and took my mom by the arm and lead her out as she couldn't get sick before the show. She was completely ready anyway so she could just stay out of there for now.
"Sing for me," I said. I looked willingly in her pretty green eyes and she stared into mine. We had the same eyes.
"Do a vocal warm up, or sing a slow song." She scrunched her nose and smiled.
"Fine."The music was so loud. I was still tired, but the music was too loud for me to doze off and I was enjoying hearing my mom singing.
The crew member had been removed from the building and taken to a hospital. It looked really bad, like a terrible virus.
I was singing along to one of my favourite songs of my mom's when I was interrupted.
"I have my daughter with me tonight." I heard her say. The audience screamed really loud. I was so embarrassed but I felt honoured at the same time.
"Can everyone here tonight please put your hands in the air for my little princess Wren?"
She looked behind her and gestured at me to go up on stage. I was petrified. I walked up the stairs to see one million eyes staring at me. The crowd cheered endlessly. I felt blessed.
My mom gave me a big hug and kiss before beginning to sing again. It was my favourite. I sang with her throughout the whole song, we even shed a few tears between us, holding each other tightly until the song was finished.
There were quite a few fans sobbing in the audience, loads of which were trying to cheer at the same time, and the rest were just purely screaming. I knew it was for my mom, but it made me feel like a princess.
All of a sudden, every single light in the entire stadium went off. The whole place was completely black. There was many screams coming from the audience. Mom went to apologise, but her microphone was off. We both tried to shout but not many people would hear.
To make it even worse, the ground started to rumble. We were having an earthquake.
My mom pulled me to the floor and we didn't let go of each other. Pieces of the roof were falling down, lights were detaching and swinging, the stage was crumbling; it was a nightmare come true. I was holding my mom, praying that I wouldn't lose her.
A light fell from directly above us and smashed on the stage, startling us both, making me let go of my mom.Fuck.
I was so scared, some of the lights were flickering still and I could just about make my way around the stage.
"Mom? Mom?! MOM?!!"
Someone grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. It wasn't my mom. It was one of her bouncers; Gary. I liked him. I hugged him back and began to cry.
"I can't find my mom, I swear she was right there and now she's gone and I want her back and what if she's hurt and-" Gary shushed me.
"We will find her. Come on." He hugged me tighter. I took a deep breath and calmed down."Mom??"
"Emma?"
