❝   I need you, I need you, I need you right now
Yeah, I need you right now
So don't let me, don't let me, don't let me down
I think I'm losing my mind now
It's in my head, darling I hope
That you'll be here, when I need you the most
So don't let me, don't let me, don't let me down    ❞

Don't let me down by Chainsmokers

Life of Dak Prescott was okay? If that was okay to say. He had to have one of the best rookie seasons any quarterback as had in or ever compared to Marcus Mariota, Blake Bortles, Derek Carr, etc. However, let's fast forward four months since their tough playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Normally when you lose like that; you take that loss and use it as fuel. That was what he told the media he was doing, but he did the opposite. He still was taking it hard, and instead he kept going out and getting into trouble with the star running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Now with all the allegations agaisnt for domestic violence, the incident of pulling a womans shirt down on St Patricks day, and his latest childish act; punching and knocking a man out at a bar. Ezekiel is an goof ball, Carmen loved him like family, she was just worried Dak would get sucked in and do some stupid.

He couldn't afford to fuck up what he had, his dream. He had worked too hard to make it into the NFL.

With just a couple of months until the arrival of the quarterbacks and the wrestlers baby, and there hasn't not been a word spoken about how happy they were to have a child. Every time Carmen metioned the baby, he waved it off changing the subject.

She understood maybe he wasn't read to let go of his loss, but when will he be ready?

Why does it feel like she only cares?

There has been plenty of times where Carmen hasn't held what he's said and done agaisnt him. However; this was the last straw.

Once the yellow cab stopped in front of her home; the pregnant woman handed the driver fifty dollars before thanking him and getting out of the car. Holding her belly with her free hand, she finally got out of the car feeling the familar uncomfortable slight pain in her back as she had a pissed off look on her face seeing her husbands car in the driveway.

    He was so dead.

Upon unlocking the door, she entered seeing him passed out on the couch wearing the same exact clothes he wore when he left the night before with Ezekiel. Slamming the door shut as loud as she could not caring if she woke up.

Stirring in his sleep, hungover Dak Prescott lifted his head with a groan "Why the hell are you slamming the door?"

"Don't take that tone with me, where the fuck were you?" Her voice covered in vemon done with this shit.

Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he was unsure what she spoke of but it came to him about 30 seconds later "Oh shit babe, I'm so sorry. I totally forgot." Uh huh.

"Just like you forgot the last appointment and the time we were suppose to go shopping for the baby?" Wow, he did forget those?

Getting off the couch, he had one eye closed as he headed over to the kitchen letting out a loud sigh looking for something to eat finally answering her "I said I was sorry didn't I?"

"Sorry isn't good enough when you've done it three times Rayne. You were suppose to meet me at the doctors appointment, and you didn't. I called you, no answer. I had to take a cab home, do you know how embarrassing that is? To take a cab home because my husband 'forgot' again. Do you even want this baby? Cause I'm not seeing any effort from you at all."

She was calling him out, and he hated when she did that, he slammed the gallon of milk he had in his hand on the counter making her slightly flinch with the unexpected noise. "Damn it Carmen! I don't know. I really don't."

Not only what he said hurt her feelings, it angered her more making her throw her hands up with a groan "You are so biopolar, it pisses me off! Don't tell me you do, then change your mind if you're going to change it again!"

"Would you stop yelling? My head is pounding."

Oh let's get started on that, "Maybe I wouldn't be yelling at you if you weren't drinking all the damn time."

"Oh now your going to tell me I'm drinking too much? Who the fuck are you to tell me that?"

Don't overract Carmen. Something classy and will make him think.

"I'm your wife, and the mother of our baby girl," baby girl? They were having a girl? "I want nothing but the best for you, but you haven't let me in, in months. I can't fix what's broken if you contunie to shut me out. Your drinking and partying is out of control. I don't want to fight, I'm just tired of this, I'm tired of fighting and I'm of being neglected. Get your shit together please. I will not raise a child on this envornment."

All of that was like a giant pill he had to swallow, but the last part snapped his stupidity in half really making him think.

"Have some water, and snack on something. I'm going to take a bath, I'll make dinner after."

Passing by her purse, she stopped, grabbing the picture out of her purse before pressing it firmly agaisnt his chest. She made no eye contact just said "By the way, we're having a girl, if you even care."

Once he overlapped her hand taking the photo gently, she headed over to the room to shower leaving him feeling guilt as he lifted it.

It was beautiful. She was beautiful. He felt his throat grow dry and eyes tear up knowing he helped create the innocent life growing in his wife and she was months from entering this world.

If there was one thing he knew, she wouldn't grow up with no father. Even if it took a lot of convincing and effort.

                     ❝  Oh god.  ❞

Ah, sorry if this was a lame ass update. I'm trying, just a lot going on, ao I'm trying to incorporate it into my writing to release some stress.
