Alphabetical order
*
* Note; Some titles aren't "pure" BL, but do have BL content of varying degree - like for an example, a gay couple or characters having a sexual identity crisis, etc. Those titles are marked with "BLC".
Any further info about the titles, is up to you to find out. All of them can be found on iMDB.
Considering the insane amount of BL produced globally (minus Asia) - there is absolutely no way that I can ever compile a complete list, so I'm only going to list titles which I consider worth a watch. This list is a work in progress - I got fed up with it for now, so I'll continue editing and adding titles, later. *
❤ = My favs
· "4 Moons – Cuatro lunas", Mexico (2014)
· "A home at the end of the world", USA (2004) (BL, Bi)
· "Another country", UK (1984) Rupert Everett's break through role - see the notes for "Maurice".
· "Ausente", Argentina (2011)
· "Beautiful thing", UK (1996) THE oldskool BL flick... ❤
· "Being 17", France (2016) ❤
· "Bent", UK/Japan (1997) Pain. But if you can stomach it -do not miss. ❤
· "Billy Elliott", UK (2000) Pure joy... Love, love, love, love this movie... ❤
· "Boys", The Netherlands (2014) Excellent. ❤
· "Brokeback mountain", USA (2005) A masterpiece. Worth every single second of pain and every single tear. One of the 10 best movies ever made - all genres. Period. ❤
· "Brotherhood", Denmark (2009) Raw, emotional, painful, excellent. One of few "mainstream" gay flicks where one of the actors actually is bent IRL. (Thure Lindhardt is openly bi.) The subculture where the story is set, is deeply disturbing, but that's also what makes this movie so different and emotionally in-your-face. ❤
· "But I'm a cheerleader", USA (1999) (GL, BL) Stupid - but hilarious. ❤
· "Ciao", Italy (2008) Tranquil and beautiful. Has one of the most gorgeous BL kisses ever... ❤
· "Closet Monster", Canada (2015)
· "Die mitte der welt", Germany/Austria (2016)
· "Don't ever wipe tears without gloves", tv series, Sweden (2012) An emotional roller coaster - and so.much.pain. But it truly is a must see. ❤
· "Dorian Blues", USA (2004) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one ❤
· "Eat with me", USA (2014) Theme; being gay in a traditional Chinese-American family. A lovely flick.
· "In the grayscale", Chile (2015)
· "Esteros", Argentina/Brazil/France (2016)
· "Eyes wide open", Israel (2009) Gutwrenching - but exquisite. ❤
· "Fair Haven", USA (2016)
· "Floating skyscrapers", Poland (2013)
· "Four more years", Sweden (2010) Lightweight, unremarkable, but the setting is truly unique - the highest level of politics... I like it, even if I can't really call it a great movie.
