There is a tale of old,

"Gravity Falls," I sighed, staring out the newly made bedroom window. The glass already smudged up and speckled, and the frame a cream color made from wood.  I could hear the birds chirping through the glass as they dashed around in the sky. A background of purple, pink and red acompanied their black outlines. I could paint that... well, if I knew how to paint that is. I honestly didn't know what I could do. It was so weird... I was living a life and suddenly I felt like I was born again.

I have all my old memories... I remember our old house and my old family, but... I reached out a hand and put my fingertips against the glass, I was hoping if I tried again maybe I could touch the sky. I feel like I used to be able to do that. I feel like I used to be able to do a lot of things... I seemed to forget who I used to be. My arm started to ache from holding my hand up, for some reason I couldn't understand why it would. I still reluctantly put my arm down, but I didn't understand how my body could hurt in such a way.

I looked around the room. No, my room. It had my Queen sized mattress and wooden bedframe. That was my white drawers filled with my clothes. That was my full body mirror next to my book shelf filled with my books. And all of the clothes and various other items sprawled across the floor.. that was my mess. The same mess that mom said I had to clean before she got home so I should probably start looking into that. I stood up from the seat near the window and began to quickly grab dirty clothes.

Only here for a week and my room is already a total mess. Jeez. I threw the clothes in the hamper near the door and started kicking stuff under the bed to hide it away for years to come. There, now it's all clean. I heard my dog downstairs start barking as a familiar red car came down the driveway. I guess mom came home early and I had cleaned up just in time. The feeling of pride swarmed my chest as I rushed down the stairs to say hi.

This place is a drab. It's grey and boring, two dimensional, and finally, it started to melt away. I could see in the distance where my reality was starting to disappear. Fading into a sort of nothingness, fading into a black hole that refused to give anything back no matter what or who it ate. I had friends long ago, I had a home, a neighborhood, a nice life. Then suddenly I was sucked into the nothing, and spat back out like a reject as my life was torn away from me right before my eye.

I guess one could say that yes, I do wonder why it won't eat me. But one can also say I don't care too much. I know what I know and ignore what I don't. It keeps me in a safe box. Any time I tried to leave that box I was torn apart, hurt someone or myself, and turned to stone. Have you ever tried to take over another dimension and was turned to stone instead? It was only a few years but felt like a lifetime of deaths. You could feel without feeling, know without seeing, regret without a way to, I don't know, fix or apologize. It was weird to finally wake up by stretching. I wasn't stone anymore, I was just normal Bill again.

I like to believe that I woke up again because the universe liked me and gave me another chance. Or maybe it was like the nothing... and it refuses to accept me. Whatever the unknown may be, all I know is now I'm here in a rotting world, and I'm the only one left. There's only hundreds of yards of field left, and the nothing is eating it like it hasn't ate a whole dimension already. Like this field is a dessert it's been craving for centuries. I'm scared of when it will finish, because where will I go? What will I do? If it spits me out again, where will I go next?

I wonder if the human dimension would possibly take me? I was born, well, created there after all. Maybe it will take me back? I can become physical again, but this time use it for good instead of bad. I can create instead of destroy. My hands emmited a blue flame and my body began to glow. "I... can... be... good!" I screamed our in pain as my body was torn into millions of pieces.

I CAN BE GOOD!

I CAN BE GOOD!

I CAN BE G-!

And then I woke up.
