Chapter Forty Two

Harry's nervous that the next day Louis won't want to go to his meeting or school.

He still stops by his house though to give Louis a chance but he's stunned when he opens the door.

There stands Louis with his hair combed and a clean outfit on looking wide awake.

“Let's go.” Louis states and then kisses Harry's lips before walking to his car.

Harry doesn't know how to react. Louis usually wasn't one to take well to failure. Yet there Louis is, ready to go to his meeting and school.

Harry composes himself and follows after Louis into the car.

Harry quite honestly is scared of what Louis might do.

What if he runs us off a bridge, Harry thinks to himself. He quickly shakes the thought from his head after realizing how preposterous that is… Or is it?

“Did you tell your family?” Harry asks vaguely.

Louis's smile doesn't leave as he replied, “Yep.”

Harry doesn't ask any more questions.

When the two arrive at the building, Louis asks Harry if he'd wait outside of the room.

“Why don't you want me in there?” Harry asks, his feelings a bit hurt.

Louis places a hand on Harry's shoulder, “I've got to do this on me own.” Louis explains before giving Harry a quick kiss and then heading into the room.

Harry frowns before taking a seat. He enjoyed sitting in the room with Louis and listening to him open up. He wanted to go with Louis a bit longer before he would suggest Louis do it on his own like last time.

Meanwhile Louis's chipper attitude stays while Harry tries to keep a happy facade.

Louis greets Liam and takes his seat right in the middle of the chairs.

He doesn't get to share that day but is eager to talk to Liam after the meeting.

“Li!” Louis hollers over.

Liam turns around a happy smile spreads his face seeing that Louis is the one who used the nickname.

“Yes?” Liam questions as he walks over to Louis.

Louis's smile finally drops as he talks to Liam.

“I lost my scholarship to Manchester.” Louis says lowly.

Liam frowns, “Why is that?”

“They found out about my drug and alcohol abuse.” Louis still feels shame admitting to his past wrongdoings.

Liam brings Louis in for a hug before saying anything.

“You're gonna go to university, Louis. I know it.” Liam whispers to Louis encouragingly.

“Thank you.” Louis sighs into Liam's shoulder.

Liam releases Louis from the hug and they say their goodbyes for the day.

Louis tells Harry about the meeting in the car on their way to school.

Louis got his work and left quickly after arriving at school. He said his goodbyes to Harry in the car. With his scholarship revoked, Louis feels embarrassed to be around people. He now is actually glad he can't go to school.

When Louis told his mom about his scholarship, he was surprised the one thing she was angry about was him going to ask.

“Louis! You're not to be putting stress on yourself.” She scolds him resulting in him giving a sassy eye roll.
