Like Reiner, Annie was a childhood friend of Bertolt's. Reiner suggested that Bertolt had a crush on her, noting his tendency to always stare at her. In response he blushed and offered a weak protest. Reiner said that once their mission was complete, Bertolt would have to tell Annie how he felt about her.When Armin claimed that she was being tortured by the military, he went into a rage and declared that he would kill everyone. As he was being eaten by Armin in his mindless Titan form, he screamed out for Reiner and Annie to help him.

ANNIE PRESPECTIVE

Reiner and Bertolt : When they trained to become Warriors, Annie seemed indifferent to Galliard harassing Reiner and remained aloof when Bertolt attempted to involve her in their conversation. Annie usually acted as a lone wolf during their mission, and her few interactions with Reiner during this time often resulted in her acting coldly towards him. It was hinted that Bertolt had feelings for her, though it is unknown if she was aware of this. After the Fall of Wall Maria, the trio struggled to find the Coordinate, agreeing that they must speak to the fake king. Annie suggested trying to seduce one of the palace guards, causing Bertolt distress, but quickly decided she did not possess the charm to do so. Bertolt expressed his disagreement, causing Annie to be confused about the compliment then thanked him, having a lighter expression there after. Both reacted with shock and anger upon learning of her capture and Reiner was willing to duel with Zeke for the right to rescue her. After returning home alone, Reiner remembers Annie as one of his childhood friends.

I would say that it isn't cannon but it also may be but due to the events we will never now.
