You'd think he'd be used to these moments. He's running into the secret lair to save some friend, the damsel, from none other than Captain Cold. Its late, cold, and he can smell the liquid nitrogen from his gun. That same old smell which lingers around Leonard.
Breathing it in feels close to inhaling acid.
This time Barry didn't even know what made him kidnapp poor Cisco. At least he mamaged to find him quickly, though, sitting unbound between heavily armed Mick Rory and Leonard Snart.
"What the hell, Snart?!" Barry zipped forward and grabbed Cisco before zipping back. "Stop taking my friends! Whats the fucking problem this time?!"
He smirked, pulling his gun up and shooting Barry's foot, freezing him in place.
"You can go now, Mr. Ramone. Oh, and Lisa sends her... regards." Cicso waited til he nodded at him to leave. He paused for one second, earning a glare from both Barry and Snart.
"So spill, why did you take him this time?" He demanded bitterly. The past few weeks Leonard and him had reached a tense agreement, for lack of a better word.
Barry didn't throw him in jail and he didn't kill people or tell others Barry's identity.
"I never did get your number." He said, approaching with his gun still pointed at vital organs which Barry would like to keep.
"Could have just dropped by." He shot back with a wave of his hands, wincing when he finally felt the chill through the suit.
"What's the fun in that? Besides, I didn't even hurt him." Snart stopped a few feet away from him, his hand steadfast on the only gun Barry feared.
"What do you want?" He asked again, trying to pull his foot up to no avail. Mick circled while Leonard just stayed there before him, standing in a near silent staring contest.
Barry knew this was for intimidation purposes- that he just wanted to scare him- and it worked. Snart knew where to hit the hardest, and he wasn't above doing so.
"Oh come on now, Scarlett, don't you always say there's good in me? Though, I must confess something." He dropped his gun then, stepping closer to to lean forward, pressing the gun's side against his throat. It froze the skin there and Barry screamed behind sealed slips, inhaling sharply through his nose. "I've seen the bad in you."
His breath was cool, much to Barry's dismay, sending shivers through his body. Suddenly this man that he had- reluctantly- fallen for seemed a lot more frightening.
"What are you talking about, Snart?" His words chilled Barry more than his icy aura and gun ever could. He didn't even know what to make of them.
"Don't play dumb, Flash. We both know you aren't always the hero. You've done bad, before. And you'll do bad again. Somewhere along the line, you'll have to choose between being the hero, or being the villain." He paused, moving his lips even closer. "I know what you'll pick."
Snart stepped away then, twirling his gun through the air with ease as if it were a pencil between his fingers and not a deadly military grade weapon that can and has put Barry in Kaitlyn's hospital bed.
"You're lying! I would never do that!" Even thinking back, he didn't remember a time he had commited a real crime. Other than the beer he once drank at a party in highschool. The only party he had ever gone to, in fact.
"You'll see soon enough, Flash." Barry found a new strength within himself, pulling his foot free from the ice and running from the building.
He stopped at Cisco's side, grabbing him before he could object.
