Mizuki's POV

I've been staring at the same ceiling for the past couple of hours as I lay on my bed and watch it stay the same dull tan color it always is, unchanging even in the slightest detail. My hair is sprawled out under me and I just can't seem to force myself to get up. It's probably the early afternoon outside but no one would really be able to tell with all the curtains drawn shut; it's not like I wanted to stay in a brooding mood, but my mind continued to drift to the battle against Haku from a few days ago. Naruto stood hunched over with his glistening red eyes staring at Haku with a palpable hatred and I could feel every muscle in my body screaming to run away. I haven't even talked to Naruto since we came back from our mission. It was blatantly clear I was avoiding him. I mean, what else could I do? I couldn't just unsee that and act like everything was normal, there's something ominous about Naruto and it's terrifying me to think that he could change like that against one of us.

My thoughts immediately came to a halt as I heard a knock on the door. What the hell? I'm not expecting company. I got up quickly and went to open the door to find Kakashi-sensei standing there with a book in his hand like always.

"Uuuhhh, hey Kakashi-sensei, what's going on?" I looked at him in confusion. This was pretty unusual, it was rare for me to see Kakashi-sensei anytime outside of training or missions. He tended to be quite the busy person, or at least that's what he led us to believe.

"Sorry to interrupt your day off, but Lord Third has summoned you today. So you can follow me whenever you're ready," he looked at me with a soft smile and followed it by glancing around the room "You know, some sunlight wouldn't kill you Mizuki."

I blushed slightly, "Yeah well, I kinda like the room this way. Anyways, what does he wanna see me for?"

"I have an idea, but all he said was for me to escort you over to his office, that's all."

Huh, I wonder what he wants to talk about? "Ok got it. Let me get my shoes." I began to look for my shoes when I heard Kakashi-sensei clear his throat and I turned around to see him wearing that mocking smile he tended to have.

"Um maybe you should wear something a little more presentable" as he finished his sentence, I glanced down at my pajama pants that had small panda heads with them making peace signs. For the second time in the last five minutes, I felt my face go red as it flushed with embarrassment.

"Ugh, you really know how to get on people's nerves," I proceeded to slam the door shut and change into my normal clothes.

We walked into the Hokage's office and I smelled the usual scent of the tobacco as light wisps of smoke circled around the room, curling in various swirling shapes. He sat in his chair like normal, taking slow drags from his pipe; he had this strange aura about him, like some kind of secret hung in the air.

"Thank you, Kakashi. I appreciate your help as always. You may leave now."

"Of course Lord Third, I'm glad to help anytime," Kakashi-sensei proceeded to walk out the room, and only me and Lord Third were left in the room only lit by the sunlight coming from the outside sky. I felt an unsettling tension set in my stomach as the silence pierced the moment and I felt my hands clam up slightly.

"Um, Lord Third? What is it that you need from me exactly?" I tried to keep my tone calm, but in my head, I was worried that he might have bad news about Papa.

"I'll cut straight to the point Mizuki since I'd prefer not to waste each other's time. I heard you witnessed Naruto erupt into a peculiar frenzy. To be precise, you saw him be consumed by the Nine-Tails chakra," my mouth went dry when he finished his sentence. Everything that had been bothering me for the past few days began to resurface. I tightened my fists until my knuckles turned white, I was scared of what I was going to hear but I needed answers.
