Group Therapy

Dr. Lynch was a rather stout man about sixty. He didn't have hair on the top of his head, but grey fuzz surrounded the perimeter of his skull. He took a deep breath in as he entered the room of young adults. He observed the purple bags under most of their eyes, and the red eyes from crying themselves to sleep. Dr. Lynch took a deep diaphragmatic breath so that his fat belly pushed down.

"Hello everyone." He set his briefcase down on the table. "It has been a while since I've seen all of you."

No one responded. It had been one month since the remainder of the cast had left the Island, and almost everyone was still in shock. The psychiatrist had met with everyone when they were rescued, but hadn't heard from any of them since. It was as if being on the Island for that miserable time period, almost a year, had made them fall off the grid. It took a few weeks, but he had managed to gather everyone together for a group therapy session.

"Let's start our session by going around and saying what we have been up to for the last month. I'm sure some of you have seen your families or have done something to relax yourselves."

After a long period of silence the girl Dr. Lynch had been keeping an eye on since he entered the room had spoken up. She looked much paler than she did before her time on the island. Her hair was in a messy, effortless ponytail. Her freckles very very visible, as she didn't put any makeup on that morning, or in the last few months all together. "I read an article about us in the newspaper," Courtney said; her voice was weak and croaked when she started a new sentence. "The headline was 'Nineteen Found, but Where did the Other Three Go?'."

"Was that about–"

"Yeah." Courtney cut off Geoff. The young man had his long blonde hair in his eyes. He was either attempting to cover up the bags under his eyes from lack of sleep or he was still in so much shock that he didn't even notice when a few more strands fell in his face.

"How about you, Eva?" Dr. Lynch asked. "What have you been doing since you got back?"

Eva tensed her muscles and sighed. "Well since I got off the island I've been trying to track down that evil, scheming, lying little prick named Chris McLean!"

"Don't you dare say his name!" Heather yelled.

"Oh will you just shut up about it!" Eva screamed. "He hurt all of us. You can't parade around refusing to say his name as if you were the most traumatized!"

"Well maybe I am the most traumatized!"

The room erupted in arguments between the former cast of Total Drama Island.

"Enough!" Dr. Lynch yelled. "We obviously have a lot of individual work to get through before we can have a group session. I think that what we all have to do is have a good night's sleep, and I will email all of you to confirm your individual session times."

The nineteen young adults stood up and left to go to their respective homes. Dr. Lynch stayed behind and put his head in his hands, not knowing if he would be able to get through to everyone, especially Heather.

⚠️ Hello everyone and please don't skip over this message as it is very very important! ⚠️

This is my new book about the aftermath of a new Total Drama season that the contestants thought was being filmed, but really it was just Chris torturing them. What you're reading is the therapy sessions afterward and how everyone will recuperate after being tortured on the island for almost a year.

This book features nineteen out of the original twenty two, although the other three will be mentioned a lot. Although it features nearly everyone it focuses on five main characters; Courtney, Duncan, Gwen, Trent, and Heather.

This book will have some emotionally taxing topics such as self harm and non-con/rape so this is your TRIGGER WARNING. Also I cannot promise that you will finish every chapter with dry eyes so keep a box of tissues next to your computer.

Despite this being the most traumatizing fanfiction I have written yet I hope you enjoy Total Drama: The PTSD Cases!
