Carik, the brother of the queen, approached his eldest daughter, Seren, with a letter in his hand.

"Seren, I have received a letter and it concerns your... dragon." He said looking at the letter in his hand.

"Who from" Seren asked taking it from him.

"It's from Petr, the king."

Seren opened the letter and began to read it.

Carik, Lord of Fellfork

It has come to my attention that your daughter, Seren has 'adopted' a dragon. I, as the king, have recently decided that all dragons, big or small, are a threat to men and will therefore be killed.

- King Petr II

"What," exclaimed Seren with a surprised and confused look on her face. "He can't, he can't do this can he?" she asked looking down at the letter.

"Unfortunately," Carik began. "He is the King and can in fact do as he please, so, yes he can do this"

A tear ran down her face and landed on the letter. "But father... he can't" more tears rolled down her cheeks. "Father you have to do something, at least try.., please" she begged looking into his eyes.

"Okay, I'll write a return letter and see what I can do, I can't imagine my mother being happy about this."
Seren smiled a little bit as he walked off into the castle.

On her way to her room she bumped in to Sonya, her closest friend.

"What's wrong?" Asked Sonya

Seren handed her the letter, she began to read it.

"Oh, what are you going to do, your going to stop him right, he can't do that."

"My fathers writing a letter back to him, and if nothing happens after that, I'll for sure do something."

"And remember that I'll help you with any thing you need."

"Thank you" Seren smirked. She opened the door to her bedroom and entered followed by Sonya.

They walked towards the baby dragon which was lying on the bed.

"So what are you going to call it then?" Asked Sonya.

"I've called her Kisa, after your mother"

"Thank you," Sonya lent over and gave Seren a hug. "How do you know it's a girl though"

"Cora found a book in the library about dragons and it said so."

"Okay," Sonya stud up and walked towards the door. "I've got to go and ask you father something, bye"

"Bye, Seren replied as Sonya left the room.

"Excuse me. Do you know where Lord Carik is?" Asked Sonya to one of the guards waking by.

"Yes, my lady, he's in his study."

"Thank you." The guard moved aside to allow Sonya passed.

Sonya knocked on Cariks door and opened it slightly.

"Sonya, come in."

"Hello Lord Carik," Sonya began

"Just Carik Please."

"Sorry, Carik, I was wondering, since I'm now 16, if you would... by any chance tell be, about..."

"Your parents?"

"Yes.., please."

"Sure, what do you want to know." Carik moved his hand instructing Sonya to sit.

"How they.., died."

"Oh, well, when you were 6," Carik began. "You and your mother were taken away, by a man named Hagen Finch. And..." he stopped and looked at Sonya. "Are you sure you want to know this."

"Yes, I've been waiting a long time."

Carik continued. "Well, you and your mother were taken away, because your mother was a witch, as you know, and..."

With out notice the door swung open, a guard entered the room, Carik stud up, surprised.
"Sorry, My Lord, but a letter came, from the capital." The guard bowed and handed Carik the letter.

"Another one? Sonya if you would give me a moment."

"Yes, My Lor... Carik sorry." Sonya left the room along with the guard.
