When we last left off in the Viridian forest, Ash and Abby attempt to catch the Caterpie and Weedle that they spotted. Well, really Misty spotted them and shrieked in fear, thus gravitating their attention to the bug Pokemon. They both give their best throws.
"Wait, didn't the Pokedex say to battle a Pokemon first?" Abby realized and face-palmed at her own mistake. She learned that yesterday. How did she forget something like that so soon? Still, it was too late. The pokeballs had already been thrown. The two Pokeballs landed on the too bug types (Ash's hit Caterpie, Abby's hit Weedle). The two Pokemon got sucked inside the Pokeballs. the trainers wait in anticipation as the pokeballs shake on the ground until a noise echoes through the air, signaling the Pokemon had been caught.
The Twins run to their Pokeballs in excitement.
"YES! I did it," Ash shouted happily as he picked up his pokeball with Caterpie.
"Correction. WE did it!" Abby stated bending down to retrieve her own pokeball with Weedle, though she had a huge smile on her face and let out a laugh. It was her first catch, and although it was a lucky one with the earlier fluke, she is still pretty happy.
Meanwhile, Ash was still praising his own catch. He was running back and fourth, showing off his Pokeball to Misty. "I caught Caterpie. I did it all by myself. I caught my first Pokemon. This is the first step on my way to becoming the number one Pokemon Master in the whole world," he bragged in his exhilaration.
He then latched his arms around misty and Abby an started running around in circles with a happy laugh. Abby was just as excited, and pretty used to Ash's behavior, so she just laughed around with her brother, but Misty wouldn't stop complaining about getting dizzy. Speaking of dizzy, While trying to keep track of the humans with his eyes as they ran around and around in circles, Pikachu got so dizzy that it fell over. Clefairy walked up to Pikachu and poked it, but Pikachu wouldn't budge confusing it. Then, looking over at the trainers' antics it got even more confued, the question marks visibly appearing over its pink head.
Upon breaking away from all of the tomfoolery, Misty turned to scold ash for his antics. "Ash,your acting like a-" Before she finished, Ash shoved Caterpie's Pokeball in her face, clearly causing her discomfort.
"Look. Inside this pokeball is the very first Pokemon that I caught in my whole entire life," Ash said happily.
"Great. just keep it away from me will ya? Same goes for that Weedle," Misty grimaced.
Ash started to tease her. "You're not afraid of an itty-bitty Caterpie in a Pokeball, are you?" he held the Pokeball ever closer to her face, making her back up.
"Bugs get me all bugged out," Misty shouts, before quivering at the thought of bugs. "Even when they're in a Pokeball. Just keep Caterpie and Weedle away!" With that Misty turned away from him.
"Misty, they're not gonna bite," Abby told her with a eyebrow raised. She didn't know what Misty was so scared of. From what she understood, most bug Pokemon were pretty docile as long as they weren't provoked.
"I like bugs even if they're not in pokeballs," Ash said simply. "It must be great for Caterpie inside the pokeball, all cute and comfortable inside there. I love my new little Pokemon." He then started to rub the pokeball against his face affectionately.
"I guess it takes a worm to love a worm," Misty remarked.
"Very funny..." ash said sacasticly, displeased at her rude comment.
"Way to kill a good mood," Abby told misty, just as annoyed by her statement. Abby was just as happy with the Pokemon SHE just caught. Does that make HER a worm too?
