Third Person Point of View

Mark lets a tear slide down his cheek as he grips Jackson's hand. The monitor beeps quietly, the noise bouncing off the walls. He watched his love's chest slowly rise, then fall. He is alive, and Mark is thankful for that.

"I'm sorry," Mark whispers softly. He knows Jackson can't hear him, but he doesn't care. "I'm so sorry I said those things to you. I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you." Another tear slid down his cheek.

Slowly, Jackson begins to open his eyes. When he does, they immediately land on Mark. He begins to push himself up on his elbows, but is stopped by Mark.

"Lay down." He whispers, blinking back more tears. Jackson stares at his lover, and frowns. "W-why are you crying? W-why am I here?" He asks. Then, Mark begins to explain, leaving Jackson in silence.

"H-he cheated on me?" Jackson questions, as if not believing Mark. In response, Mark holds his phone up, showing the screenshot. Jackson's eyes widen as he falls back down just as the beeping from the monitor quickens.

Mark grabs his love's hand, clutching it as if he was dying. Tears fall from Jackson's eyes as the beeping slows down. "Jackson," Mark breathes, caressing the crying boy's cheek. "I love you. I never stopped loving you."

Jackson presses his eyelids shut as he bites back a whimper.

"I love you too, Mark."
