Chapter 4

Camp Part 1

I shivered as the great wolf spoke.

"we have a new pack member" he shouted over the whispers. "She will need cared for, like a pup" he growled as he said it.

I still didn't understand, and in an effort to speak, I gave a cute little yip.

Everyone laughed,

I was so embarrassed! What was wrong with me?! I got lifted up again by the black wolf and he jumped to the ground.

I female wolf, grey with blue eyes, bent down and grabbed me from the other wolfs grasp.

She took me to a den with more wolf pups and laid down. She put me down and pushed me into her stomach. I stared at her in disbelief.

*this can't be happening* I thought to myself as she growled.

"You need to eat if you want to live. She closed her eyes and laid her head down.

Cautiously, I started to mimic another pup and started suckling.

I drifted off to sleep like that.

I woke to the feel of another wolf searching my body, and apparently liking it, because he put himself on me, but not in a threatening way, more of a playful way.

I growled loudly and struggled under his weight.

He laughed at my struggles. "can you talk?" he smirked.

To answer him I growled loudly.

"My name is Kenny, or Ken for short. Your cute you know" he smiled at me kindly, then got off me.

I rolled over and studied him. He was grey with black paws and a brown streak down his back.

I growled softly, and barked my cute embarrassing bark.

He laughed kindly at my attempts and nudged me. I stood up.

He trotted to a wall as I followed him. I looked up and frowned. It was high!

"this is to keep us in and enemies out" Kenny explained. I shivered at the thought of enemies.
