Tom sat in his room a few days after the blood moon ball. He looked up at his ceiling, staring in the same spot until he let out an agitated sigh. "Why do I bother. She obviously hates me..." he sat up and slid off his bed. He walked towards the center most part of his room, opening a portal. He casually stepped through it and appeared at the Diaz house holds front door. He hesitated, but knocked and waited awkwardly for someone to answer. The door handle started turning and he readied himself. the door swung open to reveal the human that was with Star.

"Tom." He said surprised. The demon smiled sheepishly and shrugged.

"Uhm... Is Star here?" Tom asks looking over Marco's shoulder slightly to see if anyone was in the room visible to him. Marco rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, deciding what to tell Tom.

"She is... But, I don't think she'd be all to happy to see you..." Tom nodded.

"I-i understand. Just tell her... Tell her I'm sorry and I'm moving on, so I won't bother her anymore..." He gave Marco a sheepish smile and started walking back to his portal. Marco watched Tom go in awe. They didn't know each other until the blood moon ball and still they know nothing about each other. Star tells Marco stories of Tom, but she makes him sound like a monster. As Marco just saw, however... He was kind. And all Stars stories just melted away.

"Tom... Wait." Marco said before he even knew what he was doing. Tom turned back around looking Marco directly in the eyes. "Uhm... Why don't we hang out sometime... Just the two of us. No girls or anything like that." Marco rubbed the back of his neck anxiously. He had no idea what the demon would say. Heck, Marco didn't even know why he said it. Tom stood in place with wide eyes.

"Uh... Yeah." He smiled a bit. "I'd like that. So... Tomorrow then?" Tom took one step back towards his portal, ready to go back to the underworld.

"Y-yeah! Tomorrow." Marco smiled and watched Tom step through his portal, waving a little. Tom waved back, giving a friendly smile until the portal closed. Marco walked up to his room and landed face first into his pillow. "This can't be happening..." He mumbled into the cloth.

"What can't be happening?" A familiar voice piped. Marco sat up and looked at the girl standing at his doorway. Star was smirking, tapping her foot waiting for an answer.

"S-star! H-h-how long have you been standing there?!" Marco jumped. Star stopped tapping her foot and folded her arms.

"Long enough. What can't be happening? And why is your face all red." She pointed out. Marco scrambled off his bed, running to a mirror. Star was right. Marco had a large blush across his entire face. He let out a long groan and covered his face with his hands. "Hmm... OH! A-are you blushing?" Star said with a huge smirk. Marco just mumbled something in his hands before laying face first in his pillow again. "What was that?" Star cupped a hand over her ear. Marco lifted his head off the pillow so she could hear his.

"It's nothing." He mumbled and put his head back down. He couldn't see it, but star frowned, dropping her arms to her sides.

"Marco..." She said in a soft voice. He could tell she was getting upset, but he couldn't bring himself to tell her that he has a crush on her demon ex boyfriend that she hates with every fiber of her being. "I thought we told each other everything..." She said in almost a whisper. Marco internally sighed and knew he'd have to give her tough love, even if it would break his heart to see his best friend upset. Especially if it was because of him. He sat up on the bed and tried his best to look serious.

"Some things are left secret, Star... I'm sorry. But I can't tell you this time." Stars face after that was a mixture of anger, sadness, and shocked. She marched out of his room going to her own, slamming the door shut. He wanted to go after her, but he knew if he did she'd find some way to get him to say it. Whether it be a spell or her puppy dog eyes. He sighed and stared at his ceiling, wondering what tomorrow would bring. He's going to hang out with Tom after all. He continued to think of the following day's possibilities until he fell asleep.
