4: School

"Wakey wakey, Marco~~" Tom poked at the human boys cheek. Marco rolled over with a groan and curled into the demons chest. Tom smiled an chuckled quietly, stroking his lover's hair.

"Do I have tooo??" Marco whined, muffled by Tom's shirt.

"'Fraid so, love. You have school." And with that, Marco shot up, sitting straight. 

"What time is it??!" Marco yelled, frantically looking around for a clock. 

"Relaaaxx~~ I've got you covered. It's 5:00 in the human realm right now. Enough for me to get you home and you to get ready." Tom kissed his boyfriend on the forehead. Marco leaned into the contact and giggles admiringly.

"You're the best.." Marco hummed. Tom smiled down at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips.

"I know. Now, let's go." They walked to the center of the room, where Tom opened a portal. Once they stepped through, they were once again at Marco's house. Tom followed his beloved human into the home and up to his room, where he sat on the bed watching Marco. The human boy was just pulling his shirt off when he noticed Tom watching him with a loving stare. 

"Do you mind?~" Marco said jokingly whilst continuing getting undressed. Tom showed no signs of moving, but did turn a bright shade of red at Marco's four pack. 

"Not at all.." He said in a daze while still gazing at Marco's defined stomach. Marco chuckled and pulled on a shirt. Tom shook from his daydreaming and regained a conscious mind. "When does this.. School thing end anyway?" He asked, curious. 

"3:00" Marco replied, looking for a pair of pants. 

"But that's an entire 8 hours away from you!!" Tom jumped up. Marco looked at him inquizicly. 

"Don't you have anything to do while I'm gone..?" Marco asked. Tom pouted his lip, huffing.

"Yes, but without you it's no fun." He crossed his arms. Marco smiled and leaned over the bed to kiss Tom's cheek.

"You've lasted this long without me, I'm sure you can last a little bit longer." Marco steps back. He thought for a moment and smiled. "If you'll miss me that bad than here.." He draped his red jacket he always wears over Tom's shoulders. "This should remind you of me while I'm gone." Tom blushed. He gripped the edges of the jacket on either side of him with his arms crossing over his chest still.

"Thanks.." He mummered. Marco chuckled and walked to where Tom was again. 

"Hey.." he lifted the demons face up with a thumb on his chin. "I'll miss you, too.." And with that Marco leans in and presses his lips against Tom's. Afterwards resting their foreheads together and exchanging breaths. "I.. I love you, Tom.." Marco smiled sheepishly. Tom smiled widely in return and felt his heart race and reach out to the Human. 

"I love you, too, Marco." They hugged and Marco left, waving up to Tom from the front yard and walking to school. It felt strange to him, going without his jacket, but he wouldn't want Tom to feel lonely. At least Marco would be surrounded by his friends... Except Star... Marco walked as the thoughts and judgment clouded his mind of how betrayed Star looked that day. Before he knew it, he was walking up the steps into the high school. 

"Yo! Marco! Where's your jacket, dude?" Janna asks as soon as she sees him.

"Oh, ya know. It's.. around." Marco smiles as he opens his locker. grabbing his history textbook and walking with his friend to class.

"Oh my gosh, I thought his lecture would never end..." Janna groans while stretching her limbs out. 

"Tell me about it." Marco rolls his eyes. Quantum physics is not his strong suit. 

"Hey! Diaz!" yelled a voice behind them. They turned around as Jackie lynn Thomas struted up to the two. "So, Marco... Who's Tom?" She smiled. Marco visibly blushed at the name.

"I-i-i'm sorry?" he said. she repeated her question and Marco blushed even more. "H-h-how.. did you-"

"You kept scribbling the name in Algebra all over your worksheet. So.. Who is Tom?" Her smile widened and she watched Marco stutter in embarrassment. "Ohh. Does Marco Diaz have a crush~?" She said mockingly. 

"W-well.. T-tom's not exactly m-my crush." Marco said. Janna joined sides with Jackie and they stood with knowing faces, expecting an answer.

"Well, well, well. Talking about me, are we?" Someone reached around Marco's waist, kissing the top of his ear. 

"T-t-t-tom!!" Marco jumped, becoming completely red. "What are you doing here?!" He said, looking around to see people watching them. Not to mention Janna and Jackie laughing.

"I came to pick you up, love. Is that such a wrong thing to do?" Tom smirked. Marco turned in his arms and wrapped his arms around his neck. 

"Of course not. It's just.. maybe wait for me outside.? You're attracting attention.." Marco blushed, feeling the eyes on him. Tom looked around, finally noticing all the people staring. 

"Their just staring at your beauty, Marco." The demon said, lifting his humans chin up with a finger. 

"Let's go home first.. Then I'm yours, okay?" Marco whispered. Tom groaned, but pecked his lips and walked to his carriage, holding Marco's hand the entire way.

The ride was relatively short, Marco talked about his school day/complaining about his physics class the entire ride while Tom listened and watched Marco tell stories with a loving look. 

"-And then Janna ended up spilling the ink all over my desk and papers. It was a mess!" Marco laughed. Tom leaned closer to him, kissing the human on the cheek. 

"You know, you are absolutely adorable." The demon held a lopsided grin as his boyfriend started sputtering. 

"I-I... Well I d-don't... Toooommmm!!!" Marco held his hands over his face, blushing profoundly. Tom smiled triumphantly. 

"You're only further proving my point." the rest of the ride was spent in a comfortable silence. Marco, at some point, lay his head on Tom's shoulder, smiling to himself. When they got to Tom's house, they went straight to the demon's room and lay on the bed, entangling their limbs together. 

"Hey, Tom..?" Marco poked the demons cheek so he'd open his eyes.

"Yes, Diaz?" Tom smiled slightly at the sight of his boyfriend.

"You don't think we're moving too fast, do you?" The human boy sighed and looked into Tom's eyes through his lashes. Tom kissed the tip of his nose in response.

"That's only because I fell for you so fast. If you want, we can take things slower." He said, moving a strand of Marco's hair from his face.

"No. I like it where we are." Marco responded, smiling sleepily. Tom kissed his forehead while smiling.

"Get some rest, love. I'll wake you when it's dinner." Tom muttered, trying not to talk too loudly. Marco noded and drifted off, closing his eyes and clinging onto his lover. Tom smiled down on him and pecked him on the top of the head one last time.

"Good night, Marco." And soon, Tom drifted off himself.
