Lady Ocean

Along the shoreline I wandered,
Deep inside a moonlit night.
All of daylight's rays were squandered,

By the moon's unearthly light.
Softly she creeps up to the shore,
And on silent wings retreats.
Then comes back to me once more,
On a never ending repeat.

Lightened and liquified,
Her beauty extreme.
Her laugh; pure and simple,
Her eyes shimmer and gleam.

She sighs and says nought,
For her tide turns low and high.
And not finding that which she sought,
Leaves me alone up high.

On the jagged cliffs I face,
The shore on which she left me alone.
And then I see her in my space,
Her waves crashing into the earthly loam.

If only I had waited,
But like the impatient fool I am.
I would not stay and be sated,
And the lady took away another man.

I am gone.
And back to the lady ocean I go.

Forevermore.
