The night had finally arrived, and Keith was prepared to investigate or acquire the object foretold by the energy, by any means necessary.
Keith sat on the roof of his shack, his bike fully fueled and ready to go at a moment's notice. He had a red bandana around his neck, should he have to break into the Garrison or one of their makeshift stations and steal something.
Keith was ready for just about anything and once the sun set, he sat on the roof, and waited. Nothing happened for a little while, and he stargazed.
Despite the quiet however, Keith couldn't shake a feeling in his stomach. It wasn't anxiety or worry, but... maybe excitement? Whatever it was he knew something would happen that night, and he continued to wait.
And wait.
... And wait.
Keith had to stifle a yawn, it was getting late.
But then, a glimmer caught his eye. He glanced up and saw it. It seemed to be a meteor, racing towards Earth.
Looking through his binoculars proved something else...
It was no meteor.
It was a ship, and one not from any Earth design Keith would recognize. This was it.
Keith leapt down from the roof onto his bike, revving the engines to life before speeding towards the projectile.
The Garrison would act on it and investigate in mere minutes, especially when it crashed close to the academy. Keith had to be fast.
He raced along the building site a few miles out, placing his line of bombs before circling back. Hopefully he wasn't seen.
Once he hit the detonator, it would go down. He'd have to be quick.
Thankfully, quick is what Keith did best.
His thumb mashed the detonator, and the horizon lit up in explosive fire.
Keith rushed in, hauling his bike to a stop behind a rocky outcropping. Then, after checking for any guards, he sprinted in.
Thankfully, there was only one room for anything or anyone that was aboard the ship. Keith unlocked and opened the doors, and saw the three scientists in there.
There was also something strapped down to a table. Keith wanted it.
"Hey!" One of the workers called as the rushed to intercept him. Keith brought his fists up. This was going to be way too easy.
One punch, two. The first two scientists were thrown back, moaning on the floor. The third rushed at him head on. A roundhouse kick to the head slammed him back against the table before he collapsed at Keith's feet.
Keith cracked a smile before leaping over the bodies and rushing over to the table. It was a person.
And one Keith recognized. He tugged his bandana down, and gently moved the unconscious person's face to where he could see them.k
Who he saw nearly broke his heart.
"Shiro?"
