Percy's POV

Nico had been acting strange the past few weeks, ever since I asked him if he was ever going to get married. I mean, I didn't mean to ask, but I was curious!

But come on, why would he act weird after a such simple question? It's not like I asked him how many humans he'd pleasured.

So anyway, right now I'm mad at him. He just doesn't know it yet, I made the decision this morning.

I was currently paddling in the sea of Nico and I's beach, the sun beating down on my back as I mulled over my thoughts.

Then, without much warning at all, I felt a strong pair of arms slide around my hips and pick me up into the air.

I shrieked and struggled against the attacker's grip, when I felt a cool pair of lips press against the back of my neck, vibrations of laughter dragging down my spine and causing me to shiver.

I knew immediately it was Nico. I immediately stopped fighting, 'cause I had to face it; I didn't have any problem being near Nico anymore. I was okay with it, he wasn't going to hurt me. These past few weeks had taught me so.

Then I remembered I was supposed to be mad.

"Let me down, Nico." I huffed, crossing my arms.

"Wow, somebody's upset today." Nico chuckled. I could hear the amusement in his voice. How dare he laugh at me trying to be mad at him! That only makes me want to keep it up!

Nico let my feet touch the water again. I immediately huffed and whipped around to face him, and made it look like I was going to speak to him.

"What?" He asked, smiling cheekily. God, he looked so good smiling. I don't even care that he's a demon, or that we're both boys. He looks downright hot when smiling.

I didn't answer. He didn't deserve an answer. I'm mad at him.

"C'mon Perce, what've I done?" He pouted, moving closer to me and sliding his arms around my hips. Well, someone's a little touchy feely today.

"Percy," Nico pouted, "talk to me, Angel. What's up?"

"The sky. Let me go."

"You little shit," Nico chuckled.

"What?" My eyebrows pulled together in confusion.

"What?" Nico asked, but then realisation dawned on his face. He burst out laughing. "Oh God, don't tell me you don't know what shit means."

I looked away, my cheeks burning in embarrassment. "No, I don't. Stop laughing."

"It's a curse word, Angel. It's used to express anger, sarcasm, sometimes affection or even exaggeration." Nico smiled.

I tilted my head to the side. "Are they bad words?"

Nico nodded, his smile darkening. If it was possible, it made him look even hotter. "Oh, definitely. Demons curse a lot. Angels..well, you didn't even know what they were. They're very bad words, Percy, and if I catch you using them I'll have to punish you."

"What?" I squeaked. Punish? How the heck would he do that?

"Naughty boys get punished, Percy." Nico said in a low, husky voice. It sent shivers up my spine, and I found myself leaning into his body even further.

Nico pulled away, a devilish glint in his eyes. He smiled teasingly. "Now how's about telling me what was wrong?"

I thought for a moment, debating on whether or not I was still mad. Well, I technically still should be, but...but I couldn't force myself to stay mad at him. He didn't even know what he'd done to make me mad.

Finally I shook my head, looking to the side. "Nothing, Nico. It doesn't matter."

"Anything that upset you matters to me, Angel." Nico ran his fingers up my neck, stopping at my jaw and tiling my head up to look at him properly.

"I'm okay, trust me." I smiled faintly. For a demon, he was too caring for his own good.

Nico nodded reluctantly. He smiled back and dropped his gaze to my hands, taking them into his own. "You know, Percy, I've been thinking-"

Suddenly his head snapped up, the light leaving his eyes as he gasped for breath, blood trickling from his lips. His eyes fluttered shut, and before I knew what was happening he slumped against my chest, dropping down to his knees.

I was in too much shock to speak. I let out a strangled sound of worry as I caught him from falling, and then pulled him back onto shore. I knelt down with him and lay him down on the fast becoming blood stained sand.

I heard a knife being sheathed. My head snapped up, and I was yanked to my feet, being pulled away from Nico's body.

"Let me go!" I screamed, hitting and kicking the person dragging me away.

"Stop it, Perseus, he's dangerous! I can't believe you! Come on, he'll only be out for a few minutes!" Jason's voice scolded harshly.

I blinked away tears. "He's good, he hasn't hurt me once! He's the one that saved me, Jason! He's bleeding!"

Jason stopped dragging me. He pulled me to my feet, grasping my arms to keep me from falling. His blue eyes shone with concern. I knew he was only trying to protect me, but he...how could he? I know Nico won't die. He's immortal. But God, will he be vengeful.

"He hasn't hurt you? Why? Have you made some sort of deal with him?" Jason demanded.

"No," I shook my head weakly, trailing my eyes over to Nico's body again, "we're friends. Friends don't hurt each other."

"Friends," Jason repeated slowly. "with a demon?"

I heard a soft whimper from across the beach. My head snapped over to Nico, and my heart broke.

"Perce," he moaned, "Perce, it hurts."
